You drug yourself in through the front door, flopping on the couch after a long day. "Where have you been all day?" Through hazed eyes, you looked up to see your father, arms crossed, glaring down at you.

"Uh, just the everyday liberating of an oppressed people." His eyes softened as he ruffled your hair, sitting at your feet and turning on the television. The sound of a basketball game filled your ears before your dad tapped your toes. You look down at his figure before seeing him point towards Connor.

Sitting up, you scoot over so Connor could sit down as well. "Thank you." Silence was the only thing in the room besides the game and the snoring of Sumo. From the corner of your eye, you would catch the android stealing small glances at you. You were tempted to open your mouth before you dad tossed the remote to you and stood up, "This game is uneventful, I'll read the results tomorrow or something. Watch what you want kid. You two don't fight." Nodding, you switch the TV onto the news, where they began covering the liberation that took place.

"Today, as many as fifty androids filled the streets of  South Detroit in a peaceful protest. At the front of the center, their leader, Markus. Beside him, a human, identified as-"

"Uh, I have something I want to discuss with you, if you don't mind." You rip your eyes and ears from the television, directing them to Connor.

"Yeah, what is it?" You pull your legs onto the couch and place your hands in your lap.

"I believe I am experiencing some type of fault in my systems. One that is making me have...emotions, and not simulated ones. My research states it could be love. They appear real; however, I must fight them as they go against my programming."

"Connor, are you telling me you're becoming deviant!" Connor quickly snatches his eyes up from his lap and stares at you in shock.

"Of course not! I am determined to complete my mission given to me by Cyberlife. I was designed specifically to end deviancy and that is what I am going to do."

Your mouth hung open slightly agape as you glared at him, "Connor, do you know where I've been for the past month?" You wanted to scream as loud as you could, but with your father asleep in the other room, you couldn't afford to.

"I do not, where?" Your finger made its way towards the TV, showing you marching alongside a mass of androids, your face determined - eyebrow furrowed, mouth wide as you shouted demands.

"Y-You're helping the deviants," Connor rose from his position on the couch, his arm slinging towards the television as he looked at you out of confusion, "your father, Lieutenant Anderson, and I are working hard to end the spread of deviancy and you're here, his own child, helping the exact thing we are after!"

Tears spilled over as you gestured towards yourself, "Do you see me Connor? This is your future self! You're experiencing emotions! That's deviancy Connor!" He stumbled over nothing, propping himself against the arch to the kitchen, his LED flashing yellow as his eyes flashed from the TV to your broken expression.

"It's nice to know that you feel this way. That you love me, because, trust me Connor, I love you too! But knowing you're against the only thing I'm putting my all into, it breaks me." Your voice trailed off as your slight shouting grew weak. Gazing at Connor, you couldn't read his expression no matter how hard you searched.

"I-I...I'm sorry. Could we make this, our relationship, our feelings, work despite our differences?"

With a heavy heart and tear stained cheeks, you shook your head, "I'm sorry, but, I can't continue to have feelings for the enemy."

Connor took long strides across the living room before engulfing you into a hug, "I apologize. I really do."

Your heart wanted to do somersaults around the house, but your mind stopped it, locking it in place as you felt all your emotions for him drain.
