"Detective, it seems that over the past few days, your work performance has dramatically decreased. You're one of our best so naturally I set out to see what could be inhibiting the completion of all your reports, yet nothing has surfaced. What's wrong?"
There you sat, face-to-face with Captain Fowler, whose usual stern face appeared soft, concerned almost. His arms pressed flat to his desk as he leaned over them, staring and studying your expression. Your face was twisted in confusion, "A decrease? Sir, I assure you that nothing has been effecting my work performan-"
At this time, Connor entered the room, standing behind your chair and resting his hands on your shoulders, nodding to Captain Fowler, "Good day, Captain."
Captain Fowler gestured to the android, "Why is it here? Connor, I am trying to have a private conversation with the detective."
"I understand, please do not acknowledge me then. Pretend as if I'm not even here." He continued to stand there, his hands never leaving your tensed shoulders.
You were used to Connor following your every step, watching everything you do. Sure, he was an android, made to serve you; however, he had grown almost...obsessive. You would catch him staring intensely at you, threatening Detective Reed when he pushes past you in the break room, even barging into conversations like he did just now.
Connor would memorize your schedule, knowing where you would be at every moment of the day. He would run analysis on you, unbeknownst to you. Grabbing your morning coffee before you could, making sure you were happy with everything he did, getting close to your friends to win you over even more, running into you on purpose, stalking all of your social medias.
It was clear to you that Connor was officially obsessed.
"Uh, Connor, you know I really appreciate you, but I'd rather be alone for this conversation. You understand, right?" The android nods cheerfully, yet never breaks away from your side, even taking the notion to sit down beside you, placing a hand gently on your thigh.
Captain Fowler made eye contact with you and raised an eyebrow; you widened your eyes in response. "Detective, it seems I have uncovered the reason behind your poor performance lately. You may take your," he gestures towards Connor, "and leave my office."
With a slight smile, you raise from your seat, Connor doing the same, and exit the room. "I'm going to grab a beer..." You mumble, grabbing your coat as you shuffle past your desk.
"I shall accompany you."
"Oh, no no no, Connor. You have so much work to do, plus, you haven't really been giving that much attention to Detective Anderson, don't you think so? You should really hang out with him instead of me." You cross your fingers, hoping he doesn't follow with, but sadly the android continues to press forward.
"I have plenty of time for you." With a sigh, you slide your coat on and shuffle out of the station, your obsessed RK800 in tow.
