The scenery was jet black besides the random objects illuminated by the white moonlight. All that could be heard was the lapping of the waves against the hull of the ship and the distant sound of the city life, with the ever so screeching of the rusty boat rocking on the water. The winter air nipped at your exposed skin, not that it really bothered you anyways. Your breath wafted through the air as you leaned against the oxidized rail, creaking as your weight pressed to it. Peering over the water, all you could see was the highlights of the wave, swirling and hurling under the dark night. Some may not find the docks the ideal site to catch a breath, feel the world spin on its axis, stop and admire the beauty of the bay, yet here you are - catching a breath, feeling the world spin, and admiring the beauty. It was your peaceful safe haven.
A loud grate echoed across the terrain, exposing the blond, soft spoken android, Simon. His blue eyes almost shined brighter than the pale moonlight, which highlighted his features much more than it did the water.
"Oh, I didn't expect you to be out here." His voice was gentle as he closed the door behind him, grimacing at the shriek of the rusty opening. The padding of his shoes against the metal flooring disrupted the entire peaceful feel from before, something you only slightly loathed.
"It's peaceful. A break from everything chaotic." He nodded, leaning his back against the same corroded rail you are. You noticed him fidgeting with his fingers, picking at the fingernail on his right left thumb. His teeth found his bottom lip and continued to scrape against it, his tongue flicking out a few times to dampen them. "Simon, are you alright? You seem nervous about something."
His head snapped up and his pupils quaked at the contact with your narrowed, concerned eyes. He quickly looked away, focusing his gaze on his shoes rather than you. With a small chuckle, you adjusted your weight onto your arms and lightly shook the railing, causing it to moan out of age. Simon jumped away from it and grabbed your being, wrapping his arms around you and swiftly moving off from the rail.
You suddenly burst into a song of laughter, whipping tears away from your eyes, "Simon, did you think I was going to fall? All I did was shake it a bit." His cheeks flushed up as his eyes once again fell away from you. He seemed at a loss for words before we hesitantly tangled a few of his fingers with yours, eventually grasping your entire hand. Your eyes flickered from your intertwined fingers to his shy expression.
"You had me worried is all. I wouldn't forgive myself if something happened to you." His blue irises finally looked up at you. They were full of emotions - fear, admiration, temptation. So many things had to be running through his head. So many things were running through your head.
Did Simon 'save' you because you were his friend? Or did he do it because he had other emotions? You couldn't sit and think for too long as Simon took a deep breath, grabbed your chin, and pressed a small kiss to your lips.
Both of your eyes fluttered shut as Simon returned for another kiss, each time he pulled away made you want more, but you burrowed your head into his neck, taking in his scent that was different. He smelled human, but you could still smell something mechanical about him. It was definitely a smell that made your gears spin out of control.
In fact, Simon's entire being made your gears spin out of control. And now you knew you did the same for him.
