Rico shook Chevy excitedly. "Can you believe it? A Ketto."
Chevy's stomach was in knots. "It's been forever since there was a Ketto at an assembly."
Verde blushed and turned to Rico. "Forgive me. What's a Ketto?"
"It's a duel between two members of opposing packs. It's usually to settle some minor disagreement that doesn't necessitate war. But the stakes can be high."
Verde turned to Cisero and Natelly. "Do you know who is in the Ketto?"
Cisero's face was grim. "Yes."
"Who?"
Natelly sighed. "Alpha Lightmeeade and one of our allies."
Chevy frowned. One of their allies? "Who?"
Dom turned to him. "Alpha Raven Blackhawk."
The announcer, Alpha Thaddeus's voice boomed loud and clear across the stadium. "Brothers, sisters, friends, honored guests. We are gathered here today because a challenge has been issued. Lightmeade pack, who will be your champion?"
Lightmeade stood with a smile. "My beta, Razor."
The stadium erupted in claps, cheers, and whistles as Razor made his way to the center of the field. He was a massive hulk of a were standing 7'9 rippling with muscles. He cracked his knuckles and smiled maliciously. Verde looked around wide eyed. Who would want to fight that mountain of an animal?
On the sidelines, Raven and Todd shared a brief glance.
"Blackhawk pack, who will be your champion?"
Raven's voice carried across the field. "My omega and head warrior, Bunny."
Bunny pulled his golden curls into a hair tie and walked out. The crowd erupted into fits of laughter as the 6'4 albino made his way to the center to face his opponent.
"Are they serious?"
"An omega?"
"Is this a joke?"
"How girly."
"That pretty boy omega can't fight."
"He has no chance."
"He's gonna die."
Alpha Thaddeus quickly mind linked the Blackhawk alpha. >Alpha Raven, are you sure?<
>Yes, sir.<
He sighed. "Very well."
"Someone get the doctor."
"He has no chance."
"Suicide."
A gong sounded signaling the start of the match. It was over in less than sixty seconds leaving the crowd speechless.
How it went down:
Razor smirked as he locked hands with Bunny. The albino looked up with his translucent purple eyes and trembled slightly. Razor's smile widened and he flexed his muscles. Bunny looked up shyly at the man more than a foot over him.
Razor's voice dripped with confidence and lust. "I'm going to enjoy ripping that ass of yours apart with my big rod when this is over."
Bunny whimpered. "I thought y-you hated f-fags."
Razor licked his lips. "A hole's a hole. What better way to break your enemy than have them wriggling and whimpering beneath you?"
The gong sounded.
Bunny's purple eyes crackled with lightning. His muscles tightened and he drew back. His entire demeanor changed. Razor surged forward to strike him down with one powerful blow but Bunny expected it. He dodged and brought his knee full force into Razor's mid section. As he doubled over, Bunny caught him with a hammer fist to the temple, knocking the giant to the ground.
The crowd was stunned. Bunny stood over Razor's body with his arms crossed over his chest. The announcer was even speechless.
"Alpha? Alpha Thaddeus?" Some one called.
The older were shook his head and snapped out of it. "The w-winner is Bunny of Blackhawk pack."
"That puny omega?"
"He beat Razor!"
"Wonder what kind of training they're doing over there."
"Socrcery!"
Lightmeade was cursing and spitting as Razor was dragged back.
"Alpha Lightmeade, as per the terms of the Ketto you must pledge a blood oath with Blackhawk pack," Alpha Thaddeus stated.
"I refuse!" Alpha Lightmeade roared.
Alpha Thaddeus frowned. "You shook on it."
"You must honeor your word!" someone from the crowd shouted.
"I will not join with a bunch of queers!" Lightmeade roared.
Many began to growl. Not honoring the terms of the Ketto was like breaking a blood oath, betraying your family or allies. It was disgraceful and punishable by the council.
Alpha Thaddeus felt his blood boiling in his veins. "You are bound by the laws. Queer or not you were defeated. Admit defeat and offer your bond of brother hood. Honor your word!"
Lightmeade glared at Raven. His eyes turning red. "Never."
The enforcers flooded the field surrounding Lightmeade's entourage. Raven shook his head. A small boy approached him and tugged on his sleeve.
"Are you Alpha Raven Blackhawk?"
He smiled. "I am."
The boy held out a small folded note. "I have a note from Alpha Syms of Oak Moon."
"Thank you," he took the note and ruffled the kid's shaggy hair. Todd looked over his shoulder.
"Is this for real?" the beta asked.
Raven nodded. "Seems so. Find Midori. Tell him to meet us in Alpha Syms's private box."
Todd nodded and headed off. Bunny approached and put his tunic back on.
"You did well, Bunny," Raven smiled patting his back.
Bunny smiled and let his hair down. "Thanks. Sorry it was for nothing."
"Doesn't matter. We may be finding alliances elsewhere." He showed Bunny the note. The albino's eyes went wide.
"This is an old school pack. Pretty powerful too." Bunny's eyes lit up. "With them, Frost Moon, and Dark Moon as our allies- "
Raven smiled. "I know."
Bunny grabbed his arm. "Well, hurry up. Let's go."
