Pulaire did a double take as he walked into the delivery room. Gaeus and Samshin were off in a corner near Bunny. Both supernaturals were injured and needed tending to. Pulaire turned to the two as he sat on the stool. Bunny was heavily sedated. The poison was still coursing through his body. They couldn't treat the poison until they'd delivered the twins.

"You two need medical attention." Pulaire said tightly.  He didn't need two supers passing out while he was trying to deliver two premature twins while keeping their birther alive.

"We won't leave his side," Gaeus replied.

"There's nothing you can do for him."

"When his children are safe, we'll leave," Samshin promised.

Pulaire gave them both a look.  "Bunny is like my family. I won't let anything happen to him."

"His blood pressure's dropping, alpha," a nurse cut in.

Pulaire sighed and gave both supernaturals a hard look. "Don't interfere. No matter what."

They both bowed in respect.

Pulaire raised the cover off Bunny's belly and winced at the nasty gash across his belly. The witch had used a jagged edged blade to cut him. The silver blade was laced with mercury and wolfsbane. It was a nasty red color with black tendrils crawling across Bunny's belly and up and down his body.

He bit back his anger and took the scalpel to make the incision. Pus and blood burst out of it and sizzled out. Another doctor quickly took a towel and placed it beneath to catch the diseased fluid. Some splashed Pulaire's face shield but he kept going. The poisons in Bunny's system could have already gotten to the twins. With them being premature, the odds of them surviving the harsh chemicals used in the detox process would be slim.

Once he finished his incision along the abdomen, he cut through the uterus. Pulaire let out a small sigh of relief. The first sac he cut through was normal. Baby A – female, was a healthy sleepy alpha. She opened her eyes briefly, then yawned and went back to sleep. She showed no signs of poisoning. The nurse quickly wrapped her in a blanket and whisked her off to an incubator after Pulaire cut the cord.

Gaeus and Samshin also sighed with relief but it was short lived. Pulaire grit his teeth as he looked at the second sac. It was already cut. Baby B – had a long pulsing gash going from the top middle of his head to his thin white eyebrow. His skin was pink and blue veins littered his flesh. Angry red eyes glared at the delivery staff and an unwolf-like growl escaped him.

The delivery team gasped.

"Holy goddess..."

"What is that?"

Pulaire looked over his shoulder at one of the nurses that was half witch. "I need a sleep spell."

She nodded and began chanting. The baby soon fell asleep. Pulaire finished his cuts and handed him over. As he stitched Bunny back up, another doctor changed out his IV bags and hung two others.

Gaeus stepped forward.  "What are those?"

"They are part of chelation therapy. They remove silver and mercury from the system using a chemical called ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid, also called EDTA. This other one aconitines to combat the neurotoxins in the wolfsbane," the doctor explained.

Samshin staggered a bit. Gaeus caught him before he could hit the floor. Having finished stitching Bunny, Pulaire stood and snatched the gloves off his hands. "Bunny's fine now. Go get looked at."

"The twins?" Samshin asked looking around.

"When we have more on Frost Moon's alpha family, we'll let everyone know."

Pulaire collapsed into the chair behind his desk with a heavy sigh. This was one of the worst days of his life. First the fire at home.  Then their communications went down. A bunch of wolves were brought in catatonic states. An attack on Whitebeard brought in a wave of injured. And now the attack on Frost Moon with the alpha family in dire straits. Not to mention the number of injured supernaturals now taking over almost ninety percent of the hospital.

He leaned back and ran his hands through his hair.  Who would attack the two packs? Why would they target the innocent children? According to the laws, they would instantly be put to death. Who would want to kill Alpha Whitebeard? He was a gentle man with few enemies. None of it made sense.

Talon walked into the office with two lunch bags and a duffle bag. He set the items down and hugged his exhausted mate. Pulaire clung to Talon like he was a raft boat in the middle of the ocean. He was so tired and worried. He felt overwhelmed. It hurt to see others hurting. As an empath and healer, sometimes it was too much. Talon wrapped him in his scent and he melted into his beta mate's arms.

"You've worked so hard, alpha," Talon said stroking the top of his head.

"It may not be enough."

The misery in Pulaire's voice was strong.  "You are enough so it is enough." Talon opened one of the lunch bags and pulled out several containers. It had been hours since Pulaire started his shift and with all the chaos that went on he knew the alpha probably hadn't sat down to rest one bit.

"Once you eat, take a long bath. Try to take a quick nap. They are going to need you," Talon urged.

Pulaire nodded and silently obeyed.

By 1500 (3 pm) the effects of the eclipse were wearing off and everyone was slowly regaining their werewolf abilities. Many of the injured wolves were slowly healing. Many would sport scars and any loss of limbs would be permanent. The werewolf council and supernatural alliance had all been notified the moment communications were restored. They were shocked to learn both had also been attacked during the blackout. Medical teams from the different supernatural home packs/covens/glens would be dispatched to retrieve the injured for transport home as soon as it was possible.

Gaeus and Samshin were right outside the door to Bunny's room when Pulaire made his rounds. Gaeus had a bandage wrapped around his bicep and the king of the merfolk had his entire midsection bandaged along with his shoulders. Pulaire raised an eyebrow.

"Forgive my frankness, your majesty –" he began.

"Samshin."

He huffed.  He didn't feel right being so familiar with royalty.  "Samshin. But you should be lying down."

"I will. When Alpha Snow and his family are together," Samshin assured him.

Pulaire gave a slight bow in respect. As if the gods were listening at that moment, Terese came down the hall wheeling a heavily bandaged Snow in a wheelchair. The alpha looked completely out of it.

"Alpha Frost, how are you?" Pulaire asked.

"I'll be better when I see them."  Snow rubbed his sore throat.

Terese sighed heavily.  After her mate arrived to take over the pack, she hurried to Dark Moon West to be with their son.  "I tried to stop him. He would hear none of it."

Gaeus smiled softly.  "I'm sure if any of us were in his shoes, we'd be the same."

Pulaire nodded in agreement. "I'll go get the twins. Bunny is still heavily sedated. He may or may not respond."

Snow nodded and looked at the two supers standing at the door.  "Thank you for staying with them in my stead."

Gaeus bowed. "It was nothing."

"I feel better now seeing you." Samshin opened the door and they followed Terese inside.
