'before the awakening'

It was disgusting.

"Diana you've seriously never had alcohol at all?" Sweet Pea laughed as he asked from the stool beside me at the bar.

It was me, Sweet Pea, Fangs and Toni at the wrym tonight. All the older serpents were minding their business. And the younger ones were also throwing back shots.

I wasn't much of an alcohol person.

When I was on the run I couldn't put myself in that position. I had to stay alert for anything and everything. That meant no drinks, drugs, etc. The only drug I had was running on caffeine. And even after I'd crash on a bed four hours later.

"Drinks are actually disgusting. I can't believe you drink that stuff. Are you like- in pain? Do you want more pain?" I questioned him back with full concern. That brown liquid tequila is not anyones friend.

"Okay but how'd you let loose when you were on the run? You had to have something." Toni now asked from behind the bar. She poured another drink for the boys as I denied the one she was going to pour for me.

I shrugged.

What was my vice?

The only thing I can think of is pick pocketing. It was a way of me getting quick cash, debit cards, etc. But sometimes I did it just to because I could. It didn't matter how much money was in the wallet. I just liked the rush of it.

"Pick pocketing." I answered back easily and looked at Toni.

She was shocked. 

So were Fangs and Sweet Pea.

"That's how you'd let loose? Pick pocketing? pool princess," Sweet Pea started and the nickname turned me off instantly. He's gonna learn to stop calling me that soon. "That's kindergarten shit."

I smiles instantly at him. 

Kindgarden? Huh.

"You remember the day I came here and got all up in your face?" I started off and nodded along to what I said. I couldn't hide the smirk on my face as the memory came to my mind. "I was able to get your wallet in less than ten seconds. And put it back."

His jaw dropped for a second before he picked it up form the floor. "Not true. Prove it."

"Your blood type is actually O negative." With my words his jaw went slack.

Fangs called his hand on my shoulder. "I like her. I'm keeping her."

"We won't let her threaten you. We won't let her." Toni's voice was the first to speak to me. My eyes opened slowly and she was standing right in front of me. A brave look on her face. "Right guys?"

"No serpent stands alone." Fangs came closer and brought me in for a hug, as did Toni.

I wasn't expecting this at all. Who do you know that is willing to help you through a situation like mine? To get involved with a girl they barely kew.
