chapter 27 || 027

'who she really is'

Today was a very special day.

There were loads of reasons it was special.

I mean, last night Hermione Lodge won the election. Which means that she and her husband can tear up the Southside whenever they want. They can also find new ways to hassle the Southsiders.

What fun that's going to be.

Today is also Archie's big day. He won student council president. There's going to be a quaint little ceremony in the auditorium. All the students were going to be there- North and South side alike. It was the beginning go change.

Also today was my date with Sweet Pea.

Everything was going good so far. There were no gang rivalries , no secrets, nothing.

Me and the rest of the Serpents were filling up the upper section of the gym. There were so many students here that we almost seemed to blend in. You couldn't really tell who was who anymore. I'm actually liking that now.

"Students faculty and staff, before we inaugurate Archie Andrews as our new student council president, please rise for your national anthem." Principal Weatherbee spoke into the podium and everyone rose accordingly.

I was sitting next to Cheryl so I was right at the end.

From above I could see that girl who approached me about voting for her- Josie. She walked over to the microphone that was dead center and stood proud and tall and started singing the national anthem.

As she laid down those sweet notes the doors to the gym opened.

In came the sheriff and two cops behind him. They didn't even say anything to anyone as they walked across the gym floor and straight to Archie. The two cops were taking his hands and putting them in cuffs.

They weren't speaking loud enough for me to hear over the whispers of the students behind and in front of me. Even Cheryl was lost and I know that that girl knows the ins and outs of this town.

The cops start leading Archie out of the gym but Archie looks the opposite way. What was over there? I follow where he was looking previously and-

Hiram Lodge.

Something is really wrong.

"Bellamy Diaz!" A voice- that voice. I know that voice.

I fly out of my seat out of pure instinct and look around the center of the gym and see the men. They're wearing the same blue suits they wore when I first saw them. They look so official and diplomatic as all eight of them stomp in a tight formation, guns in their hands.

"Diana?" Toni asks from next to Cheryl and I look at her in fear.

But it only lasts for a second as I hear his voice even more clearly.

My eyes follow him up to the podium where he smiles into the mic.

He tilts his head to look dead at me. "Bellamy, it's been too long. Six months?" He snickers and I have to clench my fist to stop from pounding it into the seat bellow me. I can't waste a good punch. "Don't be shy. Come on."

My eyes lock with his from far away and I can feel him egging me on. If I didn't get up and go to him he'd just go up these steps and come to me.

I looked to my left and see Sweet Pea and Fangs looking at me in confusion. I walked back into the row as Cheryl and Toni stepped out of it. I smiled at the tallest boy there. Quickly I wrapped my hands around his neck and tippy toes to meet him somewhat face to face.

He crashed his lips on mine making the kiss hard and rough. His hand held my body closer to his as we both moved against each other. I had almost forgot what was happening - and when I did remember I pulled away.

And it was supposed to be a good day.

"You need to call FP." I whisper to Sweet Pea and he nods his head once at me.

I turn away and make my leave out of the row of seats and down the stairs. Just as I'm about to  meet him at the podium to punch is stupid face, his men grab me by my waist and hold me back.

There's a little commotion in the back but I can't look back.

"Finally bastard we meet again. Was it that hard? To see my face? To keep on running away? To see your father die in front of yo-" His sick words are cut short when I knee one of his guards in the stomach and almost get to break free. But another one of them just holds me back again. "Speak up you bastard!"

No more running.

"You want me to stop running? I'm done!" I shouted at him and he only smiled in response. I wrangle around in his guard's arms as he only smiles more.

This stupid prick! I'm going to torture him until he begs me to kill him. Until he wishes he didn't start this cat and mouse game with the wrong girl.

"I'm sorry Bellamy- bastard Bellamy. I shouldn't have spoken to you in such a manner. But how else would I speak to a whore?" He admitted slyly and my eyes widened at his comment and the gasps in the room. What the hell was he- "Or a thief? Or a murderer?!"

I get out of the guard's harsh grip for a split second and that's all it takes. I push him away from me and stomp over to the one man I want to kill. The one man I want to lay my hands on.

In seconds I'm right there across from him. The only thing separating us is the podium. But if I just attacked it wouldn't look good for me. Not if I wanted to get away from him and lead normal life in Riverdale.

"How about a Serpent? How about an orphan? How about-" I placed my hand over the mic so that I could personally share with him his worst fear. "How about the ruler of your country?"

The man looks at me like I had stolen his breathe away. But then I feel someone pulling me back by my hair. I try to reach out to grab him still but he's got the advantage.

Then two pairs of arms wrap around my own. The guards weren't playing around this time. They start to drag me out of the gym slowly, so I can still hear their 'leader' speak to me.

"I've found you Bellamy! And all the people who care for you. I will behead them like I did the first one!" He shouted as he slowly walked away from the podium but still kept that loud voice. "I will kill you!"

"Like you tried two times already?!" I yelled across the gym still struggling in the group of the guards and planting my feet into the floor as I heard everyone or almost everyone in the gym gasp. "Next time you try to kill a princess, go for the head!"
