chapter 32 || 032

'make your way out of town'

Now how was I supposed to get out of Riverdale? I had basically no money and what I have from the diner is not enough to fund my escape. I seriously needed to think this through further. I'm already a few blocks from the Cooper's house it's too late to go back now.

I'd risk getting caugh-

"Hey!" A voice shouts from behind me while my insides turn upside down. I couldn't get caught this early yet? I can't! Slowly I turn around to see who it was that had called out for me.

Reggie.

Oh god I can't get a break. I am literally about to run out of town and this kid can't give me a break. What did I do now? "What?!" I scream back at him and he doesn't answer. He only waves with his hands to beckon me over.

Keeping it to a light jog I meet him on the block I had already walked.

"Okay so I know that this is a long shot but- I want to help you." He starts off a little shaky and I raise my eyebrow at him. What could he do for me? I'm already dead meat. There was nothing to be done. He takes my silence as a sign to go on. "I have money. Money that could help you."

How exactly did he know I was on the run. I don't remember confiding in him about the whole princess diaries thing. "How do you know I need help?" I ask him and he points to the duffle bag slung across my body.

"I have enough money to get you a flight to wherever you want if that's what you want." He explains and I nod along. I mean what else could I want? I had to go away or these men would start their killing spree on people that I have grown close too. "But I've also got another solution, that could work."

What else could Reggie Mantle have in store for me?

-

Me and the bulldog walked up the lonely streets in silence. He had some pretty good thoughts on keeping those men at bay. I mean for a jock he's pretty well rounded I guess? But it's Riverdale so I should have expected for him to surprise me like this.

We are currently walking to the Andrew's house. Reggie said he wasn't the right one to explain the plan to me and that there was someone else who had heard about my sib story who wanted to help. I have no clue who it is.

At least my hair wouldn't get ruined. I managed to braid two pigtails down the sides of my head while I was packing. You could spot me a mile away with my fro so that at least helped me blend in better.

Out of the corner of my eye I see a fancy car turning the corner of the street ahead of us. Too fancy to be on this block.

Lodge.

He can't see me. He can't know I'm still here.

"Reggie kiss me." I command him quickly and then he looks at me like I have eight heads. "Reggie!" I shout at him and he doesn't waste any time after that.

His hands cup both of my cheeks as he quickly places his lips on mine, I keep my eyes open just incase.  Trying to not focus on the way his kiss seems very gentle I dip my head away from the street to make sure none of it could be seen as he deepens the kiss. As I'm making face with the bulldog I can hear the tires of the car roll right past us and fade away.

He pulls away first, lips very pink. "Are we good?" He asks and I nod my head. Then as if nothing had just happened- like he wasn't just sucking my face off- he resumes walking the way we need to go.

I follow a small distance behind him with my hands holding the strap of the duffle bag. I had just made out with the guy I wanted to punch in the face not to long ago, but who is helping me now out of the kindness of his heart?

There was no way to explain this.

-

As we near the Andrew's house I realize that Reggie isn't leading me to the front door. No instead he goes straight past it and into the backyard. I follow, because what the hell am I supposed to do, and we get to the garage.

He wastes no time in opening the door and pulling me inside along with him.

Inside there were a few familiar faces.

FP, Alice, Fred.

There was just one lady that I didn't know with the striking red hair. She had to be Archie's mom. That flame colored hair gives it all away.

"Bellamy, it's nice to meet you. I'm Mary Andrews, Archie's mom." She introduces herself and holds out her hand for me to take. I take it into my own willingly and smile. I was definitely right. "I'm here to help you with your- situation."

I look over to FP and Alice who look hopeful. If those two looked hopeful then maybe- just maybe I could finally rest. I didn't have to be someone I didn't want to. I didn't have to leave. I could finally be me. Whoever that was.

"How are you gonna help? Are you like a detective? Do you work for the FBI? Oh my god that would be so go-" I catch myself rambling and shut myself up. I can hear Reggie stifle a laugh at my words. "Sorry."

Mary shakes her head and takes both of my hands in hers. "No, Bellamy you're okay. I'm not in the FBI but I am a lawyer. And I think I can finally set you free of those men who have been after you." She explains to me while I nod my head at her every word. I never had a lawyer before.

They killed a cop because I had told him about my situation. And my story never made it to anyone else I guess. But now I can- I can get a chance at that. A chance at justice.

"Where do you want me to begin?"
