'what family truly is'

I walked side by side with Toni and Cheryl as we entered Riverdale high. Didn't think I'd be this excited to be walking down these halls again. All the kids lined against the lockers were either staring at me or smiling.

Fangs, Jughead and Sweet Pea were at their lockers just chating.

"Diana!" I heard his signature voice as soon as I entered the diner. Then I felt his body collide with mine in a hug.

I wrapped my arms around him and held him close. "Fangs Fogarty I missed you, you idiot." I laughed and so did he. This stupid boy was starting to grow on me. I did take a bullet with him after all.

"Bullet buddies." He pulled back from the hug and smirked at me. He wasn't ever going to let it go. Ever. "Go say hi to everyone else. Then we can talk a bit."

I looked around for who he could be talking to and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I recognized everyone in the diner. They were all here for me. Or almost all of them, some other Northsiders I've never seen before are also taking up a booth.

When my eyes landed on Toni and Cheryl I went up to them immediately. They both had their arms stretched out for me, welcoming me. Even though me and Toni weren't super close- and me and Cheryl haven't held a full conversation- they still hugged me.

"We missed you. Was tough just hanging with the meat heads." Toni joked and I couldn't help but laugh at the thought. I didn't know how she survived them before I came to Riverdale. "And I  just missed you."

The three of us all pulled away from the hug and I looked at Cheryl. "The boys are hard to understand sometimes." 

I nodded quietly at her.

"Long time no see." Jughead appeared from behind the two girls and I shook my head lightly at him. We did run into each other that random night but I think it's best if we keep that between the two of us.

I wasted no time in hugging him. And when he reciprocated I knew the kid wasn't just some walking computer. I mean he was, but he was more than that. 

"I really hope you and Betty did not bump uglies on my couch." I sassed and he hissed at the comment, making me snicker. Still the reserved Jughead. "Kidding, relax."

He let me go after a while and nodded behind me. 

There was only one person left that mattered. Only one person left for me to greet. 

I whipped my whole body around and there he was. The stupid tall boy I'd grown to like. I slowly walked up to him by the counter.

"Nice to have you back, Princess." He smiled and I couldn't help the smile that was forming on my face because of it. 

"Just hug me already." I  playful rolled my eyes as he brought me into a hug. God he even smelt good! I kind of missed it. I think.

"Okay is it really that big of a deal that everyone has to stare at me? I mean I'm jus-" I started off as the three of us reached the boys. But of course Fangs had to be the idiot he is.
