Chapter 31 || 031

'who she becomes' 

"WAIT WHAT?!" The serpents all shouted at Betty causing her to stumble back a little bit. She had just told them what Diana wanted her to say to them, the message. 

Diana wanted all of them to know that she was leaving Riverdale on her own to go back to her mother's country and take the throne, she was done running away from who she's supposed to be.

Fangs got up from the couch in the student lounge and stormed out in anger with Toni following after him. That left Sweet Pea, Jughead, Betty and Cheryl stayed behind with Betty trying to make sense of what was happening to their friend.

"The guy called her 'princess' Bellamy. And there were a bunch of guards with guns at the assembly. I think it's true." Cheryl thought out loud but none of the others answered her back. 

Jughead and Sweet Pea didn't answer back because they knew what she did to run away from these men. About the man she shot and buried. But at the assembly the man called her a thief and a whore.

Sweet Pea was there when she talked about pick pocketing but-

"Do you think she left yet? Do you think we still have time to convince her to stay?" Sweet Pea asked Betty and she and to avoid his gaze from telling him the truth. Diana was still in her older sisters bedroom getting her things together. She said she'd be gone by midnight tonight.

Betty shrugged casually. "She only came by to give me the message to give to you guys. I have no clue where she is right now." 

Jughead looked at his girlfriend for a split second and sensed something was off. 

Cheryl spoke up instead of him though. "I hope everything turns out okay for Diana."

"What are you guys talking about?" Reggie's voice added into the mix and all for of them stared at him in confusion and shock. But not Sweet Pea, he looked annoyed.

Sweet Pea stood up from the couch, "None of your business," He grunted as he left through the door Toni and Fangs went through.

Alice knocked on FP's trailer door twice before he opened it himself.

"Alice now's not a good time. Diana- she's missing from the sheriff's station and I think-" Fp started nervously sharing until Alice placed a hand on his shoulder. That's what made him stop stuttering about Diana.

"She's at my house. You can see her, but you cannot tell the kids." Alice commanded and all of a suddenly FP did a whole 360. 

Now he was grabbing his jacket from the kitchen chair and heading out the door and into Alice's car. The two drove out of the Southside and into the north as Alice went over her decision in her head.

She lied.

Diana didn't want FP to come over.

But Alice knew she needed someone to talk to. Someone that Diana knows she can trust and confide in. And although last night it was her, it needed to be FP. He needed to get her out of this corner that he's been backed up in for too long.

A knock on the door sent my nerves for a whirl. Betty had left for school- hopefully telling the others my message. While Alice said she was going out to get me some things I may need while I'm traveling.

But I thought it might take longer to get those things.

"Who is it?" I ask- even my voice croaked in fear. I need to stop sounding like a baby, if I was going to make it as a princess.

The door opened and behind it was Alice. I guess she's a quick shopper? She smiles a little bit and then opens the door even wider to reveal FP. 

"Hey kid." He greets me, as they both come in.

I knew she wasn't getting me anything for traveling!

"I'm sorry Diana but I need you to talk this over with him. He's the one who's been taking care of you and he deserves to know your plan." Alice apologizes to me and I nod my head at her. She was right. I couldn't just leave without explaining my self and my plan to him. But I knew saying goodbye to him would just hurt a little too much.

FP sits on the corner of the bed as Alice leans against the door of the room.

"I'm going to Belliva, San Marino. It's the Island where my mom ran away from, that the man wants rule. I'm gonna go there and become a princess. It's the only way to guarantee I won't be killed and none of you will get hurt." I lay out my plan to him as best as I can but he doesn't look at me. He's staring out the window like it holds the secrets to life.

FP shakes his head and finally looks me in the eyes. "Diana I can't let you do this. You're under my care now and I-" He cuts himself off with a deep sigh.

He's attached.

I'm attached.

We're both screwed here.

"I wasn't asking you. I have to do this." I keep myself from crying by looking around the room for something to keep my distracted- anything. "I can't let them take you too."

Out of no where I feel FP wrap his himself around me. Just like I did the first time we met in the wrym. I was so scared back then. I mean I still am now, but for a different reason. I knew what was coming now. There were no more options left to choose.

It was resting on me to do this.

I place my hands on his back and slowly rub them up and down. "Its okay. At least this way I'm not dead and my father didn't die for nothing." It was sad though because I didn't want this. He didn't want this for me either. Neither of them did.

"Diana," FP detaches from me and looks at me eye to eye. "I'm so proud of the woman you've become. I'm glad you got to live some normal here in Riverdale. And I know that you'll make it out there."

There was no point in stopping the tears now.

"Thanks FP. You're like my second dad you know? I'm not gonna forget you." I said happily- it wasn't a joke or anything. This man really stepped up for me. 

But now it's my time to step up.
