Chapter 40!

We looked around and couldn't find him. So we decided to split up into groups, Nash, Matt and I were a group and Carter, Shawn and Cameron were a group too. One group went north and the other went east of the rock. My group went north.

We walked and walked and walked for a good 45 minutes and didn't come across anything until we all heard something, "Shit!" They whispered. It has to be Hayes.

Nash shushed us two and creeped up behind another rock similar to the first one. We walked past it and Hayes was sitting there, his leg all bloody and covered with a wash cloth. Nash's eyes widened even bigger. I walked around to see him and my hand went over my mouth. Reality snapped again and Nash said, "Come on Matt, pick up his arms."

"What do I do?" I asked.

"Hold his hand or something." He said, I could see him sweating. On our way back, it took twice as long to get there, carrying a body. The two hours it took were frantic for us. We all were on the edge or hyperventilating of passing out. I could see Hayes getting bluer and bluer the closer we got. Then, he lost consciousness.

"We're going to have to do whatever we need to do here." I said wiping my forehead with my wrist.

"What? We can't do that!" Matt said looking at me like an idiot. He was right, but it was the only thing to do. They set him down and I took out the first aid packet the man gave us if we decided to explore the whole park. I pulled out a bunch of random stuff and pulled the wash cloth off. A piece of bamboo had gone completely through his let, the stem part of one, thankfully not thick. We all made this face like, 'shit'. I took a deep breath and put one hand on Hayes' and the other on the bamboo. I took another deep breath and pulled the bamboo piece out as quickly as I could, it immediately started bleeding out. I grabbed my shirt and one that Cameron gave to me and pushed it down on top of his leg. He squirmed a bit, even though he wasn't conscious. I pulled the shirts off after a long time of pressing and grabbed these tweezer looking things and pulled out the chunks of bark in his leg. Luckily the impact wound wasn't gigantic, so he still had all of his leg there.

A half hour later, Cameron, Shawn and Carter came to where we were a flipped, astonished about what they saw. We all were. We all weren't ready.
