Chapter 23

Liam's POV.

After Kathie closed the door, I sat on the couch thinking how hurt and broken she was. I just wanted to help her and after all the way she was talking about Alisa wasn't appropriate. She is her sister. They are supposed to love each other, not going behind one another's back. I wish I could take all of her pain away but I can't.

Niall came out of his room, sitting next to me. The last thing I wanted to do was explain what had happened. Thank God, he got that and didn't refer to the little fight between me and Kathie a few moments ago.

"What did you cook, wifey?" I forgot I was still wearing an apron I found in the kitchen. When you do something, do it properly right?

"Stop the lame comments and come help me." I stood up and went in the kitchen, having Niall follow me.

"I heard you and Kathie yell. Probably at each other as there's no one else here. What happened?" I knew he wasn't going to just let it go. Niall's always the one who wants to know everything.

"Well, she was talking about Alisa in a harsh way." I wanted to keep my voice neutral but I wasn't doing a good job.

"Why? What's wrong with Alisa?" Damn. He sure wanted to know everything.

"If I don't tell you, you'll read my mind so here it goes..You better keep your mouth shut, though." I didn't want Kathie to hate me for telling him so if he kept his mouth shut, Kathie would never find out, would she?

"It depends. Now tell me. You know I'll find out whether you tell me or not. So what's the point?"

"Well Kathie told Jane that Alisa is her child which means that Jane will be after Alisa soon."

"Does Alisa know anything about it?" He was freaking out even though he wasn't showing it.

"No." My voice was calm. I didn't want to piss him off. The last time I did, we almost killed every human that was in our way. Since then we decided on drinking animals' blood.

"What are you waiting for, then? Her to be dead?" Okay maybe he didn't need me to piss him off. He was already pissed off.

He stood up and went to Alisa's apartment. I didn't follow him.

Niall's POV.

I couldn't believe Kathie would do such a thing to her own sister. I thought they were doing well with each other. I was wrong. I knocked on the door. When the door opened, I saw Kendall but I didn't give a single fuck about him being there. I was about to go in.

"Where are you going?" I heard his voice behind me as I was already in.

"I have to talk to Alisa."

"You two have nothing to talk about." I swear if he was going to raise his voice even more, I would rip his head open.

Instead I tried to cease my anger for Alisa's sake.

"I have something important to tell her."

"Why didn't you tell her before you decided to kill her?" Keep your cool Niall. Don't kill him.

When I was about to answer him, I heard Alisa's voice and I turned around.

"What is going on here? Why are you yelling?" She was scared when she saw me. Why was she scared? Was she scared of me? No. Why would she?

I was quick to tell her everything that had happened between Kathie and Jane.

Her eyes widened and she was at a loss of words when I stopped talking.

I tried to approach her but she backed away automatically. Just then the lights went out. And I saw Jane's figure appear in front of us.

Within seconds I was thrown to a wall as the same happened to Kendall. I tried to move but I couldn't. Jane's powers were taking over me.

I saw Jane go closer to Alisa. I screamed but my voice wasn't coming out.

"You've got dark magic inside of you. You don't belong here." Jane said to Alisa.

"Are you nuts?" By the way Alisa answered, I knew she thought it was some kind of joke or something.

"You're much stronger than me, Alisa. You can even destroy a vampire." Jane looked at me while saying those words. I was pretty sure Alisa wasn't going to hurt me.

"I would never hurt anyone." I knew it. In your face Jane.

"You haven't learned how to use your powers yet. This kind of magic can destroy you." No Alisa don't listen to her. I wanted to shout.

"I don't know what you're talking about. I'm not like you." Alisa was trying to seem calm but we could all see she was frightened.

"I know you were always looking for your mother. You had one but you could feel she wasn't your mother. Am I right Alisa?"

"No! I've never felt like that." Her voice was trembling. I knew she was lying. But why was she lying?

"You could feel it, Alisa. You always wanted to meet me. You always wanted to be stronger than everyone else." Jane kept getting into Alisa's head. Bitch.

Alisa hesitated at first. She was thinking of what Jane had just told her.

"You're lying." She tried to be convincing, failing miserably.

"You had always had that power and in two months that you're turning eighteen, you won't be able to control it. You'll kill everyone that's on your way whether you love them or not."

Jane grabbed Kendall by his neck and lifted him up. No matter how much I wanted him dead, I wanted to be the one to kill him.

"You can kill anyone. Even him." She tightened her grip around his neck.

"Stop!What do you want from me?" I couldn't understand why Alisa cared so much for him anyway.

"I want you to follow me." No Alisa. Don't even think about it.

"If you promise that you won't hurt my friends, I will come with you." What. No. She looked at me with sad eyes while mine held disappointment.

"Okay I promise." No. Alisa don't believe her. If only I could talk.

I tried to move and talk again and this time I made it.

"Alisa! No! Don't do this! You know she will kill you. You know it." I screamed at Alisa, desperate to stop her from going with Jane.

"I have no choice. I'm sorry." She shouldn't be sorry.

Jane held Alisa's hand and they slowly disappeared...
