Chapter 18

It was past midnight and we were out of London, far away from my house.

Nobody else was there. It was only the three of us. None of us was talking. Anywhere I was looking at was completely drowned into the darkness.

Liam pulled over and both Niall and Liam got out. I got out and followed them.

"Are you going to tell me where we're going?" I was losing my temper.

"To a house near here." Niall informed me.

"House?! What house?!" I asked, irritated.

"I have a step brother, Zack! I'm adopted and my biological parents died! Jake and Jane who's a witch adopted me! Zack's a wizard, too and he may find a way to bring Alisa back to life but.."

"But what..?!"

"It's not that simple! Someone has to die in return! Something like a sacrifice!"

We arrived at that house that Niall was talking about.

When we got in, we saw Beck.

"Beck?! What are you doing here?!" Liam asked, surprised.

"I can help you!" Beck answered. His eyes full of hope and...regret?

"You?! Oh c'mon now!!" I snapped at him.

"Kathie, calm down! Beck, how can you help us?" Was Liam seriously telling me to calm down?

"Beck wants to sacrifice his life!" Zack informed us.

"What?! Beck, are you sure?" Liam once again asked surprised.

"Yes, I am! I'd lost the love of my life by a stupid mistake! I feel like I'm gonna make it up to her if I sacrifice my life! So? Do you accept my offer?"

"And how do we know that you're telling us the truth?" I asked, irritated.

"It's the truth, Kathie!" Liam assured me.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes! Don't worry! So, Niall?"

"Thank you so much, Beck!" Niall turned to Beck.

"Kathie, I'm sorry for trying to kill you." Beck smiled at me.

"It's ok! Thank you for sacrificing your life to save my sister!" I thanked him, smiling back.

"Zack, I'm ready!" Beck stated.

"Okay, then!"

Zack started saying a spell.

Beck fell down, dead and his body disappeared.

"It's over!" Zack spoke out.

"Thank you, Zack!" Niall smiled at him.

"Anytime! Be careful with what you do! The girl must die!"

"Maybe she doesn't have to." Liam said skeptically.

"Liam, don't even think about it!" Niall warned him.

"Either I'm doing this or something else which is much worse!" Liam threatened.

"Hang on a sec! If Alisa is alive now, what are we gonna bury?" I asked as realization hit me.

"I'll make an effigy." Zack offered.
