Chapter 32

I opened my eyes in the morning, seeing the familiar walls of my room. I had missed it so much. I wanted everything to go back to normal. I would really appreciate it. Really I had missed the old times when Alisa and I would go out and have fun with our human friends. 

I got out of my warm and comfortable bed putting some clothes on. They were all still asleep. I went to the kitchen and got a glass of water. I didn't really remember what I had drunk last night but I sure as hell remember that it was something strong. I took a sip of water drowning down the last night's events.

When I turned around, I saw Niall sitting on the sofa. I approached him and I was surprised when I saw the tears running down his face. 

"Niall? What is wrong?" I asked. My voice barely audible. I didn't want to make him angry. I knew he was already upset.

"I am just worried. Really worried. That's all." His voice was harsh. He had been crying for a long time.

"I am worried, too. It's all my fault, I know. I should have heard you. You were right, it was always me." I admitted. I knew it was my fault all along.

Then, behind Niall appeared Zayn and Louis. Zayn's eyes were so scaring. 

"Niall, we know where Alisa is." Zayn said looking directly at Niall. 

"What? Where is she?" Niall was really surprised. So was I.

"Earlier we were all at the fort and we were practicing as usual. Suddenly, we saw Jane and Alisa behind her going straight to Jake's room. Alisa stayed there with us while Jane was talking to Jake. She was injured and her body was covered with bruises. They were in a hurry. Then, Alisa started setting the whole place on fire and locking all the doors and windows. After that, they both disappeared." Zayn said looking at Niall the whole time.

"We saved Jake. The only ones that were saved are Zayn, me, Jake and two or three vampires. Jake was in a terrible condition. Jane must have told him something or she must have done something to him because he was acting like he was conquered by demons. But the strangest thing was that he was saying the word 'Luxor' repeatedly." Louis informed us.

I grabbed my laptop and searched this word. But what I found was really strange. 

"I think I found what Luxor means." I said to them.

"It says that Luxor is an ancient town in Egypt." 

"There is also a myth here." Louis pointed to the screen.

"Yes. The Pharaoh's Curse." Zayn stated. He knew so many things. I wonder how old he was.

"I know that curse." We heard Harry's voice behind us and we turned around. Everyone was awake. Finally.

"It is said that if you touch or worse open Pharaoh's tomb, the Black Death will find you. And then, the curse will cover the whole global causing the end of humanity." Harry continued.

"I think I know this myth." James said looking at me.

"About 3,000 years ago, Pharaoh fell in love with the King's fiancée and they started having an affair. But when the King found it out, he killed his fiancée and he burried Pharaoh while he was still alive." Carlos stated. Damn. They knew so many things. 

"Pharaoh was eaten by beetles. That was the most torturous way to die. Everyone thought that he was cursed." Kendall simply said.

"And all that was because he was in love with her?" I asked. Really that wasn't fair. Love is supposed to be a beautiful feeling and a wonderful adventure. Not a terrible way to die. 

"They weren't supposed to love each other." Liam said to me.

"How can you say that? They were sacrificed for the name of love. But of course, I forgot again. You can't love. You can't feel. You are not human." I said to him with bitterness in my voice.

"Don't even think to start fighting right now. Well, if I have to go to Egypt to find Alisa, I will go." Niall stated. 

"We will go together." Kendall argued.

"But what about Kathie?" Zayn looked at me. 

"What do you mean? I will come with you, guys." I fired back. I knew where this was going. They were trying to push me away but I wasn't having it.

"We are stronger than you, Kathie and you know it pretty well. You aren't strong enough to come with us." Louis said calmly.

"Yes I know it, Louis. But guess what? I really don't care. It's Alisa we are talking about here. She is my sister. Step sister but still. I can't just sit here doing nothing." I looked at Zayn. I knew he didn't want me but I couldn't care less.

"She's right." Harry defended me.

"Okay then. Tonight we're leaving. Let's get prepared." Niall stated. 

James, Kendall and Carlos went to their fort to get their things. Niall, Liam, Zayn and Louis went to the forest to hunt animals because they needed energy and a lot of blood in their bodies.

Harry stayed  home with me.

"Why didn't you go with the others? Won't you get hungry?" I asked him although I kinda knew the answer. 

"Don't worry about it. I just wanted to talk to you." 

"Talk about what?" I really didn't want to talk with Harry. It was all too awkward between us after the kiss that we shared.

"I heard you and James last night. If I am the cause of your break-up, I apologize." He said looking into my eyes. His eyes were so innocent and beautiful as always. I could sit there and stare into them for hours. 

"Don't apologize. It's not your fault. It's just that James and I lost interest. I still love him but not how I used to." I said meaning every word. It wasn't his fault. It was because of Liam. Liam was the cause. He got inside my head and I just couldn't stop thinking about him. He was everywhere I was looking at. 

"Why did you two break up?" He was asking too many questions.

"Because it wasn't working between us. So, do you want to help me get ready for tonight?" 

"Of course. Come on." He grabbed my hand leading both of us to my bedroom. 

When we were done with everything, we just sat on the couch and talked for a while untill the others were already back. 

The hours had passed so fast. Outside was pitch black and it was the perfect time for us to leave. The only think I could think about was Alisa...and Liam. I just couldn't not think about him and that was making me so angry with myself.

We arrived at the airport and waited for a long while to get on the plane. When we got on the plane, I just sat on my seat and put my headphones on, forgetting about this world for a while...
