// ELSE WHERE //

_

Today I stayed home. Not going out, seeing Daniel, going to work, listening to music, watching TV, yelling at Noah, or calling Finn on the land line. I didn't even go to my support group this week. I just stayed home, lying flat on my back on Sadie's Burgundy coloured couch, flipping through the tiny pages of a dictionary.

It was on Sadie's book shelf in her living room, and I thought it looked cool because it was so tiny and kept between two other books. I dunno, I guess you could say I was a weirdo. But I agree with you.
I flipped through a section where there was the really complicated words like;

Verisimilitude,

Brobdingnagian,

and

Pulchritudinous

...whatever that means. I said the words aloud to myself like in the Christmas movie Elf, where Buddy says "Francisco". I chuckled at myself as I remembered that scene. I suddenly felt an extreme shot of pain in the right side of my stomach, making me jolt. "Ah.." I scoffed in pain as I sat up. I called Sadie from her bedroom. Sadie's house was actually really convenient, mostly because it was a one story bungalow from like the 1960's. So basically I didn't have to yell up the many stairs and floors of a regular house to get her to come down. Her room was just off of the kitchen.
"Sadie!" I called out. "Yeah!" She said back. I heard her footsteps coming down the hallway. "What the hell do you want Mills?" She leaned on the doorway. I held my stomach in pain, and Sadie immediately knew what was wrong. "Shit!" She rushed over to me. "How bad does it hurt Millie?" She said. I started to breath heavily in fear. "I don't kn.." I hyperventilated. My eye sight was blurry and my hearing was tuning out as I saw Sadie trying to talk to me. "Millie! You have to stay awake!" She shook me. I started to seize. I heard Sadie panicking. I wanted to tell her that I was okay. That I was alright. But I couldn't speak. My tongue touched the top of my mouth uncontrollably, making me gag. Sadie sprinted to the kitchen, bringing back a pop sickle stick, and shoving it under my tongue so I could breath.

I didn't really remember anything after that, only that I couldn't breath, and that I blacked out after a while. I woke up to a ringing in my ears, making me squint. There was a bright light above me. Where was I? For a second I thought I was dead.

God, is that you?

I joked around in my head, but soon I started to feel worried. I blinked my eyes open, covering the blinding light with my hand. I noticed a clip on my index finger. It was big, and felt like it was cutting off my blood circulation. "What the..?" I mumbled. Once my eyes started to work again, I realized I was in a white hospital bed. I was still wearing my clothes from earlier that day, and my hair was a mess. I groggily sat up, my stomach felt like there was an anchor in the bottom of it. "Ugh." I rubbed my eyes. "I feel ya." I heard a voice from across the room. I turned to see a girl who I didn't know. She was sitting up too, with a black eye, and a cast on her left arm. "How'd you get here in this hell hole?" The girl asked. "Oh, I uh.." I began to speak but I really forgot how I did end up here. "I had a.. seizure I think.." I tied my hair in a small bun. "Oh shit." She chuckled. "Sophia." She said, sticking her hand out. I slowly shook her hand, as her cold ring touched my fingers. "What's your name then?" She hopped back on the bed, holding her broken arm. "Uh," I struggled to speak. "You don't have a name?" She joked. "Millie." I finally let out. "Millie.." she repeated in her own words. "I like it." She nodded.
"Millie!" Sadie ran into the room, almost knocking over the curtains surrounding my bed. "Thank goodness you're awake!" She hugged me. "Don't ever scare me like that again!" She crosses her arms. "Or I will throttle you." She let out a huff, crossing her arms. Sophia just burst out laughing, making Sadie and I both look at her. "Sorry." She stopped laughing. "Sophia Lillis." She shook Sadie's hand quickly, making me grin. Sadie shook her hand back cautiously, but soon gave in. "Sadie, Sink." She pursed her lips.

I stayed in the hospital for an hour after that. I had to sign some random papers about my health and age and some other shit that was pointless.
Sophia was really cool. She had short dirty blonde hair, with a million freckles on her face, and really pretty blue eyes. I could tell that Sadie was starting to grow on her. She offered to drive us both home. We parked to a lurch on the side of the road. Sophia admired Sadie's house, looking out the window. "So this is your castle huh?" She studied it. "See you retards around." She rolled up her car window, leaving Sadie and I on the grass of her front lawn.

"I know it wasn't just your seizures that made you upset Mills." Sadie said, lying on her bed. Sadie was right. I didn't answer her. "Did you talk to Finn..?" She asked. "Yes." I wiped my nose. "Are you going to.. keep it." I could tell Sadie was very upset about the topic, and asking me, but I knew it had to come out. "I don't know." I shook my head, closing my eyes. "I feel that.. I need, to let it go." I say with complete honesty. Sadie nodded in agreement. "This is your decision, Millie." Sadie warned. "I know." I breathed in heavily. "but, I feel that it's the right thing to do." I fiddled with my fingers anxiously as Sadie got me a cup of tea.
