"Finn?" I say simply through my flip phone. "Uh, this is me. Well, obviously.." I pinched myself for acting so weird. "I, I wanted to talk to someone, even though you're not really here right now. I miss you." I soon gave up. Shutting the phone and throwing it across my bed, landing on other side. I lay on my back, staring at the ceiling motionless. Suddenly, a ringtone startled me. I sat up quicker than ever, crawling over to my phone, and answering it quickly. "Hello?" I said quickly. "..baby girl?" I heard Finn's voice, lighting my stomach up with what felt like fireworks. "Hi," my voice hitched. "Hey." He voice sounded deep and raspy. "I miss you, and red, and everyone." He sounded lost. "I know." I lit a cigarette.
Finn and I talked forever. I only wished it could stay that way forever.

Today was prom.
I was scared to go.
I stood in front the bathroom mirror, staring at my tinted red dress along with my tinted pink hair. I looked like a lolly pop, but I didn't think I looked that bad. "Where's Sadie?" I asked innocently, as I stepped into the living area. "She's not answering her cellphone, she might already be there." Gaten did up his black tie in the mirror. Daniel's car horn honked from outside. "Oh shit! We gotta go!" I clung onto Noah's sleeve and leaded him outside. "Fuck! Wait!" I grunted, taking my high heels off, and changing into Converse instead. "That's better." I hopped off of the deck's steps and followed Noah, and Gaten out to the car.
When I entered the passenger seat of the mini van, Daniel was wearing a crappy looking suit. I looked in the back to see some more random teens I hadn't seen before. Noah and Gaten climbed over them, sitting tight side by side, not wanting to touch any of them. They all looked like they had just come from a druggie den. I brushed it off, buckling my seat belt. "You look really nice Daniel." I tried to be friendly, but it just came out awkward. "So do you." He adjusted the mirror. He hadn't smiled once since we've gotten into his car. I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear, looking down at my hands. "Daniel," I whispered to him, hoping none of the other random teens heard me. "Who are all these people?" I asked. The boy shifted in his seat, "my brother's friends. I, said I would drive them for him." He said like he didn't care. Something was up with him, and I didn't like it. I darted my eyes around the car from where I sat, in boredom. "I hate this song." One of the teenagers called out. "I love it." I said in the quietest voice ever. "What the hell princess no one asked you." The bratty teen threw her hands in the air. Noah and Gaten stepped in. "Hey, leave her alone." They both turned, giving her a death stare. I turned back around, biting my nail. "Can everyone just shut up, please." Daniel raised his voice. "What's gotten into you?" I asked him. "Why didn't you tell me you had a boyfriend?" Daniel said sternly, making me flinch. "W-What?" I pretended to not know what he was talking about.
"Why didn't you?" He raised his voice. "Hey, just calm down guys." Noah lay his hand on Daniel's shoulder, but he smacked it away.
"I dunno, I.." I shut my eyes in guilt.
"I'm sorry." I looked out my window, not wanting to talk to anyone. "I thought you were different? You know? When I first met you, I thought you would show a difference in this town, but no. You had to snatch the hottest guy in school just to get a notch on his belt. The drunk." He hit the wheel lightly. "Finn isn't a drunk!" I argued back. I didn't say anything after that. The car was silent for a while. "Can you stop the car please." I say flatly. Daniel looked ahead. "What." He said flatly. "I wanna get out. Now." I say. "Okay," Daniel said without a care in the world. "Millie I-" I cut Noah off. "Go have fun Noah," I say calmly to him. "You and Gaten have a great time." Gaten smiled at me, while Noah was still confused as.

I knocked on Sadie's front door.
I knew she was home. I just knew it.
If she was at prom she would have called to ask where I was. I knocked again lightly, when finally the red head answered the door. She had bags under her eyes. She had been crying, I could tell. "Millie? What the hell?" She pulled me inside. "Sadie Sink what are you doing here?" I asked. "Umm, I live here." She said flatly. "Ugh, no I mean why aren't you dancing right now!" I rolled my eyes. "Because," She shut her eyes, pouting. "Because I don't know who I am anymore." She sat on the steps of her staircase. I sat beside her, my dress getting in the way. "what do you mean?" I cupped my hands. "I like girls, but, I feel.. the need to dance with Caleb." She looked like she was a about to cry. "Come with me." I yanked the girl outside, and down the street into town.

We went to Dairy Queen that night.
We were the only two there, laughing so hard our ribs hurt. I licked my lips, which were covered in chocolate ice cream. "Oh Mills, you got chocolate on your dress." Sadie sounded sad. "Eh, fuck it. I hated this dress anyways." I smirked. "Thank you." Sadie pulled me in for a hug. I shut my eyes as I rested my chin on her shoulder blade.
