June 9th, 2003.
Prom was in a week.
I was nervous, but also sad that Finn wasn't here.
I lay on the hotel bed, hugging a pillow. "Millie," Noah sounded concerned. "Are you pretending that pillow is Finn again?" He sighed. "No." I shifted my eyes back and forth. Noah rubbed his forehead, lying down beside me. "We're in deep shit aren't we." Noah swallowed. "What do you mean?" I turned. "my parents called me." Noah admitted, making my heart stop. "What? When? What did you tell them?" I sat up in fear. "I didn't answer." He looked up at me. I pursed my lips and slouched. "I'm going out." I sat up sternly, grabbing my hoodie. "I'll be here." Noah sighed, turning on the TV.

I walked and walked and walked.
I didn't realize I was in Finn's neighbourhood until I passed his house. The way I remembered it was, he lived on the other side of the train tracks. I stopped in my steps as I looked in the window, spotting the man in his chair as usual. It was Finn's father. I wanted to go inside. I felt sorry for him.
I walked up to the door, hesitating to knock. I clutched my orange beanie in my hands nervously as I thought if I should actually do this. I shook my head, knocking anyways.
knock
knock.
It took a while for Finn's Dad to answer the door, but once he opened it, I just froze.

I stood in the TV room of Finn's house, face to face with his father. He didn't look all that scary as I thought he would. I was still fiddling with my beanie in my hands. I looked around slowly, not really remembering Finn's house from the inside. It wasn't the nicest place, but it looked homey to me. Finn's Dad stood in front of the fire place with me. I looked on the mantel at the one picture of Finn when he went to that live Nirvana concert in 1992, with his dad carrying him on his shoulders. I smiled in aw. "would ya like something to drink." Finn's Dad asked as he rolled up his sleeves of his sweatshirt. "Uh, no, no thanks." I said. "so you're this, Millie girl?" He eyed me. I nodded simply. "I, came to apologize." I bit my tongue on purpose. "for watching your house the other day," I cleared my throat. "Ah," He smirked. "it's fine with me." I was surprised as his choice of words and his chill he was about this. I self out a sigh of relief. "I won't tell Marry." He chuckled, soon coughing, covering his mouth. My expression changed, as he finished coughing. "uh, thank you." Was all I could say. I turned on my heel, as Finn's father held the door for me.

Noah and I did our favourite Sunday activity.
We drove around town, just observing and taking pictures, and later on getting ice cream. It may sound like we're stalkers, but I swear we're not. It was just something we liked to do!
"Who are you taking to prom?" Noah smirked, as he rolled down the window. "No one." I said innocently. "What why? I'll go with you." Noah said. I didn't answer. "Look Millie, I know someone already asked you, and I know you don't know what to do because Finn isn't here and he's the love of your life!" Noah sounded like a kid. I coop a deep breath, "Daniel." I let out. "It was Daniel." I repeated. "I didn't wanna tell you." I shook my head, looking out the window. Eliot stuck his head out, his fur blowing in the wind. "Why didn't you say?" Noah looked over at me. "I dunno." I mumbled. "So are you going to go?" He asked again. "I guess." I bit my lip. "Don't worry, I'll be there with you. And sads too." He tried to cheer me up. "Thanks Noah." I held his hand like usual.

Gaten, Sadie and Caleb all came over to our hotel. We all watched Marry Poppins. There was a knock on the door. I jumped up to answer it, hoping it was Finn, only it wasn't Finn. It was Sophia.
"Hey!" I pretending to sound happy. I hugged her as she let herself in. Sophia had a quirky personality, but that's what I found so cool about her. "Hey soph!" Noah and Sadie stood up, greeting her. I walked into the kitchen in my bare feet, grabbing some more popcorn. I smirked at the camera that lay on the counter, grabbing it and taking a shot at everyone. "Agh Millie!" Noah blinked at the camera flash.
JUNE. 2003
I didn't realize that Gaten had pulled out a red guitar from his bag until after I sat back down.
My eyes widened.
"Ohh nice guitar," Noah gasped. "Let's see." Noah grasped the guitar in his hands in aw. "Wait." He stopped himself. Everyone looked up. "Why do you have Finn's guitar?" Everyone looked over at Gaten. "I, I was gonna give it to you Mills earlier, I really was but.." he stuttered. "I didn't know if you wanted it or not." I blinked at the boy. "Finn told me to give it to you." Gaten said, fiddling with his fingers. Noah passed the guitar to me. I wrapped my delicate fingers around the neck of it. "Oh, and this." The boy with the curly hair dug around in his huge backpack, looking for something. He finally pulled out a flannel pullover. Revealing to us all that it was Finn's too. I stuck my lips together at the sight of it. Gaten carefully handed the dark green fleece to me. "Do you need a minute?" Noah lay a hand on my knee. I nodded so slightly I didn't even know if it was a nod. Everyone slowly got up, and leading a trail into the kitchen, leaving me alone in the TV area.
I didn't really know what to think.
Finn had left me his clothing and his guitar. Why? I didn't understand.
I clutched the fabric in my hands, feeling how soft it was. I held it up to my nose. It smelt like Finn. I slowly pulled it over my shoulder and wrapped it around my body like a jacket, holding Finn's guitar in my two hands. I just sat there for a while. Not moving at all.
