Update: I'm gonna do something crazy.
Now that I am officially eighteen years old, I'm going to dye my hair or get a tattoo, I can't decide. I do know that if I got a tattoo Noah would scream the roof off in anger.
I think it's better to dye my hair...
I walked into town, with a fifty in my back pocket. I probably shouldn't be walking around town with that much money out, but I was eager. I opened the store's door, making the little alarm beep three times as I entered. "Hey there miss." The girl at the front desk greeted me. She had dread locks, pierced everything, green and pink eye shadow, and a million tattoos on her arms. I tried not to stare. "Hey! Dream machine." She said, finally getting my attention. I blinked, "uh, sorry." I cleared my throat, walking up to her. "What can I do for ya?" I scratched my head. "Uh," I looked at all of the wigs, rings, and other inappropriate clothing items on the wall for sale. I then spotted an example of hair dye colours. I smiled slyly at it, nodding.
ten minutes later..
I sat down in the black swivel chair, as the girl washed my hair carefully. She had huge fake nails on, making me a little uncomfortable, but I didn't really mind. I stared at myself in the mirror. She stared to cut my split ends of the tips of my hair, making a 'snip' sound every time she cut.
It took about an hour and a half for me to finally finish, also extra time to let my hair dry. "Okay.. you're all done sweet pea." The girl said, smacking her bubble gum. I gazed at my light pink dyed hair in the mirror. "Woah." I gasped. I smiled at the girl, thanking her at the front desk. "You from round here?" She frowned with a grin. "Uh, n-no." I dug around in my bad for my money. "I thought you weren't." She chuckled. "I'm from, Virginia." I stood back up, handing her the cash. "Ahh." She opened he cash register, making it ding. She handed me back the change. "Your sure a sight for sore eyes." She smiled. "Keep the change." She winked at me, walking back to the back of the store. "Thanks." I grinned. I thought I looked like a whole other person! Noah will sure have a row at me when I got home, I bet it.
I walked into the gas station across the street, taking a picture of it. People probably think I'm a crazy tourist from Alabama or something, since I'm always taking pictures.FEB. 2003
I entered the gas station with a spring in my step, hoping that they would have what I was looking for.
I hovered over the shelves, grabbing gum, tampons, Advil, chips, cigarettes and two magazines.
I plunked all my items down on the counter in front of the cashier. He looked at me with a 'really?' sort of look. "C'mon man it's my birthday." I rolled my eyes. "Eh." He nodded sloppily. I could tell he hated his job. He handed me back my change, still looking at me weirdly. I skipped out of the gas station with all of my things. I leaned up against the brick wall of the side of the building, struggling to light my cigarette. I flipped through my magazine of movie stars who Noah found hot. I cringed every time he said that, but I had to except the fact that he did like boys. Someone honked their car horn really loud, startling me me. I shot my head up, seeing Sophia in her bright red Mercedes. My expression changed into a smile as I waved at her. She rolled down her window, "Hey Sunshine," she stuck her head out the window. "wanna lift?" She raised an eyebrow. "Yeah! Thanks!" I jogged over to her, shutting the door behind me as I sat in the front seat beside her. "Thanks for the ride." I buckled my seatbelt. "No problem. I was bored anyways." She shrugged, spinning the car around doing what mom used to call, a 'U-ie'. "Where do girlfriend?" She adjusted the mirror. "Uh, home please." I nodded. "Did you do something to your hair?" She looked at me, frowning. "Uh, yeah. Today's my birthday, so I thought I'd do something crazy." I blushed. "Holy shit it looks awesome!" "Really?" I asked. "Yeah! You look like Nirvana and the Red Hot Chilly Peppers has a baby, and then Blink 182 adopted it!" She widened her eyes in amazement at her words, making me laugh so hard my ribs hurt.
We pulled into Sadie's small drive way.
I saw Noah outside, sitting on the roof with Sadie and Finn beside him. I haven't seen Finn in what seems like forever, especially with all the baby business lately. Sadie waved at me, while Noah and Finn hopped off of the roof onto the grass. "Sophia winked at Sadie, backing up and speeding off down the quiet street, making skid marks on the pavement. Finn scooped me up in his arms, making me laugh. "Finn let go you ass!" I giggled. He finally put me down, kissing me quickly. "I've missed you." He held my hand tight. I looked over at Noah. He had widened eyes at my hair, just standing there with his book in his hand. "Millie," he began. "What the hell did you do to your hair?" He said. "It's my birthday! I wanted to do something crazy." I exclaimed. Everyone laughed except for Noah. He just rolled his eyes, making me laugh even more.

I sat at the end of Finn's bed, sitting on the floor beside him. We looked out his window, watching the rain begin. We had blankets over both of our bodies. "Thanks for an awesome birthday Finn." I sighed. He turned his head to me. "It's not over yet." He smirked. "What do you mean?" I shifted my body to face him. He put his head back, huddling his knees up to his head before speaking, "come with me." He smirked, taking my hand and pulling me down his stairs and past his living room. We had to whisper because Finn's Dad was sleeping in front of the TV. We went out the back kitchen door quickly and quietly. My oversized hoodie was too big for me so it looked like I was wearing a dress even though I had shorts on. I rolled my sleeves up and followed Finn from behind. We went around the house to his car. I was curious to where we were going.
Finn drove off of the paved road, driving onto the dead grass beside the high way. The car bounced up and down as we finally parked in the middle of the grass. We weren't far from town, but we were between the farm land and home. "Where are you going now-" I questioned myself as Finn got out of the car, leaving me sitting there. I scoffed and opened my door, trying to keep up with him. "why do you always get out of the car?" I chuckled at Finn. He took my hand in his, and brought me to an abandoned park it looked like. Now I was very confused. "C'mon." Finn stared to climb the black fence/gate sort of thing. To be totally honest I didn't even know what I was doing, I just obeyed everything his asked. He jumped onto the other side with a thud. I stood there like an idiot. "How the hell am I supposed to climb that?" I stared at the fence. "Come on, trust me." He smiled. I finally sighed, planting my right foot up, and my left following. I soon got to the top, jumping down into Finn's skinny arms, laughing as he spun me around. He then gestured me to do a piggy back. I rolled my eyes, smiling, as I hopped onto his back and taking his sun glasses out of his black hair and placing them onto my head. We went up onto an old building, finally placing our bodies onto the top of it. Sat down tiredly next to Finn. "Why are we here?" I asked. "Just wait." Was all he said.
Wait? Wait for what? For he grass to grow? I thought.
I then went blank faced at the sun set.
It was beautiful! I wanted to take a picture so badly. I reached for my camera, soon realizing I didn't bring it. "fuck." I groaned. "I didn't bring my-" I stopped at the sight of Finn, taking out my camera from his bag and handing it to me. I shook my head at him. I snapped a shot at the sky, wrapping the handle part around my neck, allowing the camera to hang. "thank you curly." I lay my head on his shoulder. "Curly?" He chuckled. "That's your new nick name." I grinned. Finn nodded, accepting the name I had given him.
I was happy.
