Today I didn't leave the couch.
"Has she eaten anything?" I listened to Gaten as he and Noah peeked in the room. I stared at the TV screen, flipping through channels. "No," Noah whispered. "Shit." Gaten cursed to himself. "It's because of Finn isn't it." Gaten whispered. I suspected Noah nodded, as they kept looking in on me, thinking I didn't see or hear them. "Where the hell is he?" Gaten asked Noah. "How should I know?" Noah sassed him. "I'll get him." I heard Gaten state, walking towards the door. "W-What?" Noah whisper-yelled, totally oblivious as always. "I'll grab the son of a bitch and bring him back here so they can work things out." Gaten said, and with that, he ran out the door of our hotel room and down the hallway. I finally turned to Noah, as he stood there like a twig. "Oh, hey." He simply greeted me. "Hey." I replied blankly. "Do we have any chips." I told myself with no expression on my face. Noah frowned at me as I shuffled in my socks to the small kitchen area. I opened the cupboards.
"There's nothing good to eat!" I groaned. "Are you PMS'ing?" The brunette questioned me. I gave him a death stare, and I think he got the message. "What happened with you and Finn?" He blurted out, making me more angry. "Nothing." I stomped back onto the couch with a cup of coffee. I sipped it quickly. "Finn said I need to stay away from him," I gave in, bowing my head. "What why?" Noah asked. "He.. he thinks he hurt me. But he didn't, I swear, it was an accident, and I-" I stopped myself from speaking at the sound of three nocks on the door. Noah and I looked at each other, before Noah opened the door without question. Gaten had Finn in his arms, with his arm wrapped around Gatens back. "Help!" Gaten's face was in pain as he struggled to carry Finn. Noah took his other arm, lying the boy on the couch. "What happened?" I was scared. "I, I dunno," Gaten panted, dusting off his shirt. "Finn." I took his hand as he opened his eyes slowly. "No no!" He mumbled. "Stay away from me." He started to ugly cry. I put my face in my hands.
God what have we gotten ourselves into.
"Finn.. it's me." I wanted to cry but I told myself no. I've cried too much. Finn looked scared of me.
Of me.
Like I was a monster trying to kill him. "What's up with him?" Gaten questioned with caution. "Call Sadie." Gaten pointed at me, gesturing me to get the phone. "Why.." I stuttered, still in shock. "Just call her!" Gaten instructed. I ran into the kitchen, sliding in my socks along the floor. I dialed with my shaky hands. "Hello?" She answered. "Sadie, you.. you need to come over!" I hung up with that, running back into the room. "We need to call 911." I panted. "No, it's not that serious." Gaten dabbed Finn's forehead with a wet towel. "It doesn't matter if it's not that serious!" I argued. Sadie still wasn't here yet. "Shut up!" Gaten and Noah yelled at the same time. I grabbed my inhaler, and swung open the door. "Millie..?" Noah looked back at me. "Millie where are you going?" Noah shouted at me. "Millie!" He yelled. "I'm getting his medicine!" I rubbed my eyes as I tried not to panic. I took the fire escape stairs, running out the door and out of the motel. I sprinted down the street.
I wasn't supposed to be running, but I didn't care.
My breath became harder, and it became more and more difficult to breath, but I kept going.
(Terry Fox who? 😂)
I grabbed my chest as I felt dizzy, sticking my inhaler in my mouth, pressing down, letting hair flow into my lungs as I kept running. I reached Finn's house, opening the back kitchen door violently. "Millie?" The voice of Finn's father was prickly from the other room. "I'm sorry about this mister Wolfhard I really am!" I panted, looking through the kitchen drawer. I found Finn's medicine, giving his father one last look of sorry, before running back out of the house.
"I got it!" I panted so hard it felt like my chest was about to explode. Noah snatched the liquid bottle out of my hands, pouring it into a spoon, and carefully pouring it into Finn's mouth. Sadie came rushing in behind me. "Hey, what the hell happened?" She looked terrified. "Millie?" Sadie looked at me as I started to shake. It was all too much for me. I couldn't take it. "My god somebody catch her!" Sadie's voice sounded scared and alone, as I fell into Noah's strong arms. He grasped me, laying a pillow under my head. I hated this.
I hated my body and what it did to me.
I felt bad for Finn. He just watched as I seized like a kid having a spasm attack. Last thing I saw before I completely passed out, was Finn looking so hurt at the sight of me, and Sadie putting his hands on her head in stress.
