Victoria's Point Of View
I opened the door and was met with a pair of black eyes. I could feel fear gripping my heart.
"Can I help you?" I asked quietly, clutching the door knob.
"You can." The black eyes came forward and I took in the rest of the person.
"How?" I asked, looking at the girl with wild dark red hair.
"Don't be scared. I won't hurt you."
"That's what all the murderers say." She giggled and backed up to sit on my stairs.
"I know your brother." She toyed a strand of her hair.
"Did he train you?" I asked, she nodded with a smile. "What does that have to do with me?"
"It's a long story. Sit down, get comfortable." She smiled and met my eyes.
"I'll stand.." I was still worried just incase she wanted to kill me.
"What is going on?" Jesse asked from behind me. I froze, clutching the door.
"That can't be Jesse Michaels, can it?" The redhead asked, Jesse came to my side.
"The one and only." He looked at her. "Annabelle."
"Hey there. I was just talking to Victoria. Can you tell her she has nothing to be afraid about?"
"I'm standing right here." I let go of my grip on the doorknob.
"We know." Annabelle winked. "Why are you so scared? You only talk to docile vampires. Don't you?"
"We had an unfortunate encounter with vampires who were after me. One of them hurt Victoria."
"That sucks." She frowned and her black eyes darted between Jesse and I.
"I can speak for myself." I said sourly to Jesse, he smiled at me but his gray eyes stayed guarded.
"You seemed to be frozen." I sighed and shut the door.
"How do you know my name?" I asked the redhead vampire, she smirked.
"I told you, I know your brother. "
"You said he trained you." I pointed out, she leaned back on her elbows.
"That's right." Sadness from my breakup weighed down when the fear from Annabelle was gone.
"Is that the only thing that he did with you?" Jesse asked. I wondered if he sensed my sadness.
"No offense, Annabelle. But why are you here?" She giggled sounding like chimes again.
"Nate asked me to check in on you, as a favor to him. Make sure you're safe." I smiled, weakly.
"I'm as safe as can be." I said, trying to sound nonchalant.
"She's got vampires and werewolves protecting her." Jesse said, I grimaced at 'werewolves'.
"He told me about that." She smiled. "So i'm sensing some type of bond here. But it can't be...can it?"
"What bond?" I asked with a frown. Jesse's face hardened and his eyes glistened dangerously.
"Blood promise, blood bond. Interchangeable really." She looked at Jesse's face. "Is it true?"
"You should know." Jesse's voice was hard, she didn't seem fazed.
"Nate will not like it." Jesse snorted.
"I'm not worried about him." My jaw dropped.
"Why did he do it?" She asked, her eyes staying on my face.
