My Epitome Of Love

"I got a pocket , got a pocket full of sunshine. I got a love and I know it's all mine, oh oh woah." I nod my head up and down as I sing to the song that's currently stuck in my head.

"Someone's in a good mood" Jasmine exclaims as she falls in step with me.

"When am I never ?" I ask her with a raise eyebrow.

"Girl you're lucky I love you" Jasmine smile as she studies my weird behavior.

I'm just in a good mood. I'm grateful for health, strength, my family and Jas.

"So I talked to Alex last night." Jasmine announce.

Giving her a look as we entered our AP Human Geography class. "And ?" I ask her because I'm totally lost.

I mean they talked and exchanged numbers as soon as they found out that they're partners so what am I missing.

"We talked about non school related stuff."

"Oh my God tell me more" I squeal in pure delight.

"He messaged me first, he asked me how my day was, we talked about our favorite movies, tv shows, music and food"

"Wow. That's great. So if you guys keep this up. Will you go out with him ?" I ask her

She take a few minutes to answer, her face flushing red. "Truth is I like him Jess. He's really nice. He's kind, funny and really thoughtful."

Awe. My Jassie boo got a crush. That's so sweet. "I'm happy for you Jas."

"Thanks Jess. It means a lot."

"Good morning class whose ready for today's pop quiz" our teacher, Mr Harewood announce as he walk in.

I lean into Jas's side and whispered "I take it back. I'm not in a good mood."

Earning a snort from Jasmine.

Spotting Joshua through the sea of students, I speed walk to catch up with him to discuss about part two of the assignment.

"Joshua" I let out, slightly catching my breath. Standing in front of him, I hold one finger up to indicate that I need a minute.

After catching my breath, I finally ask him " When will we be doing part two of the assignment ?"

Giving me a look of distaste he says " I don't remember being friends with you. Why are you talking to me ?"

" Are you freaking crazy asshole. Hello.. in case you forgot we're partners for an English assignment or are you to dumb to understand that."

The nerve of this guy. I didn't do anything wrong.

"I'll message you tonight." He says while walking away.

Not today Satan. Not today. I'm not going to kill him. Just think calm happy thoughts.

"Why are you being such a jerk ?" I ask him, bearly holding my temper in.

"Why are you being such a pest ?" He fires back.

Releasing my temper. I said " You know what. You can go f**k yourself. I don't need you." With each word I shout, I poke him hard on his shoulder. He didn't even wince. Bloody asshole.

While I am walking away, I hear him call my name.

Turning around, he says " Sorry love, I'll need you to do that for me." With a wink he turn and walk away.

When I finally thought that Joshua and I were going to be civil, I think we'll end up starting world war 3.

Thankful that the hallway is hardly crowded with students who are actually minding their own business, I held my head up high and walk away.
