Marcus put the key in the ignition. "How did it go?"
"Good." I simply stated, not wanting to give out too much.
He stared at me for a moment, as if he was going to argue, then let it go, but before he did, I saw him look at the place where my necklace is, but only for a second as he went back to driving.
"So, Now what?" I asked, letting it slide.
He turned to look at me with a smirk plastered on his face and mischief in his eyes. "Now we have a sleepover."
I started laughing.
"Ya right!"
.......
"Wait you were serious." I asked, getting off the car to see our friends cars all around his house.
"I thought it would be safer at mine since we don't know if they know who you are, better not risk it." He said, totally ignoring my statement.
"Its not much, but it's home." He commented as he opened the door.
As we entered I spotted the gang all sitting on the couch with their bags at their sides.
"How did they even get in here?" I asked logically.
"Your momma let us in as she was leaving. She told us to make ourselves at home, so that's what I'm doing." I turned to Mathew as he walked in from the door I presume led to the kitchen. "Cheers." He lifted the drink he was holding and took a long gulp of it in.
"Alrighty then, I will lead you to the rooms." Marcus stated, holding back his laughter.
By the time we got settled in, the sun was setting.
Marcus's house wasn't big considering it was just his parents and him, but he did have an extra room, so we let the boys sleep in his room and the guest room be for us girls.
Me and Marcus had yet to tell them of what was going to happen. We weren't sure it was right considering it might freak them, but it was better for them to be prepared then not.
The smell of sweets and coffee was what had me walking out of the room door to see what amazing person had been so wonderful to fill my life with deliciousness.
Mathew was stuffing his mouth when I walked into the kitchen. "Mhhm these are delicious!"
"Of course they are child, these are my specialty!" Someone voiced from behind him. Of course it could only be one person.
"Hey Mrs. Martinez" I greeted as I came up to her.
She smiled down at me.
"You must be Chanel!"
Now I had never personally met Mrs. Martinez, but my parents were close to her and I had seen her one or twice helping around campus. She always made the most delicious food on the planet.
"Yes, thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home."
"It's my absolute pleasure! I wouldn't have it any other way. Now you enjoy these while I go get settled in." She said with a gleam in her eyes.
She was always very cheerful. I liked that about her. She was also very beautiful, with her curly hair and hazel eyes, just like her son.
"How about a movie?" Marcus stated, interrupting my thoughts and coming in to join us.
Everyone situated themselves around the couch as me and Jules took our spots on the couch, leaving a space for Marcus to sit down.
Marcus was asking us what we wanted to see. Everyone wanted action or romance. While Mathew wanted a horror movie. He said it would give him a chance to protect the girls. Obviously we had better judgement and went with the action one.
After that was done Mathew ran to go change it to a scary one making sure no one would change it. Great!
Now, I like scary movies, but what Mathew put on was definitely not one of my favorites. The freaken Grudge!
A part came on where she popped out of no where and I jumped. Clinging on to whoever was next to me. Apparently, I had grabbed Marcus's arm, as I could feel his strong muscle's through his shirt.
He started chuckling and I let go, but didn't scoot back over.
Leave me alone, it was comfortable. Any girl would do it, so don't judge!
"Hey, I can handle scary shit like Killers and Exorcisms, but once you put on this shit I'm done." I whispered to Marcus.
"Mmhm" He replied with a smirk, not believing a word I said.
"Forgetting something" A voice whispered behind us, making Jules scream.
Laughter filled the room, as Mrs. Martinez stood before us, holding a bucket a popcorn.
It was too dark to see her facial features but the Tv was giving us the ability to somewhat see her.
"Since I saw Y'all watching a movie I decided to distract myself by making popcorn. Now I'll leave you to it." She stated, handing the bowl over to me. Her eyes gazed down to see how close we were sitting to each other. I blushed, as she of course left with a gleam in her eyes and a smirk plastered on her face.
"Mothers." Marcus simply said, not commenting on what just happened. I smiled as everyone focused back on the movie until someone threw popcorn, leaving us with a popcorn fight.
Moments like these made me love what little I had in life.
