Friday night
....
“Shit, fuck!” I rub my foot. “Watch your step.” I give Marcus my no shit face. He doesn’t see me as he’s concentrated on the fence ahead of us. I look down and kick the damn rock.
“We are going to have to climb.” He looks down at my high heel boots. “I can climb perfectly with my outfit and why don’t we just take the door.” He begins climbing. I follow, making sure to hold on tight. “The entrance is going to be crawling with security from the party. They don’t want crazy kids messing the place up.” I sigh.
He makes it to the other side jumping with ease. I get to the top with a grunt. “This is one part of the training I never got.” He chuckles. “Come on I’ll catch you if you fall.” I turn as I make it over, jumping down. “Thanks but no thanks.” I clean the non-existent dirt off my dress.
We start walking towards the buildings. Through the shadows we slip. We finally get to the right building. Marcus grabs the door. “Locked.” I sigh. “Of course dummy.” He looks around, ignoring my comment before he pushes his leg up and kicks the door. I breath a sigh of relief when the alarm doesn’t blare on. “Thank you Jeremy.” I whisper into the air as if he could even hear me. We rush in and reach room number 16. I take out my bobby pin and put it in the key hole. Opening it with a click. “What the hell. You could have done that for the outside one.” I walk in as memories of this room surface up. “No because that door is wired different.” He rolls his eyes. “Come on, we’re wasting time.” I kneel down in front of the cabinet. Running my hand on the bottom of the drawer. I reach a part and automatically feel the indent of the shape. I take the hexagon off my neck, placing it in its rightful place. I push open the cabinet. I gasp as I shine the light on the picture. “What is it.” I look up at Marcus as he stands guarding the door. “A family.” I look through the papers. “But Mr.Colebet doesn’t have a family.” I take out one of the papers which intrigues me. “Exactly.”
…………………
“Girl you were on fire!” I laugh as Mathew hands me the 20 bucks with a scowl on his face. “What did you find?” I sit as they all eat food. “About thirty five years ago Mr.Colebets parents got into an accident. They weren’t drunk or anything. Nobody knows what happened, but it was serious. They got sent to the hospital and went into a coma. Apparently they died two years after that.” This reminded me of Texas and his resentment. “I believe he set out to hate god for not saving them from the coma.” I look up to see all of them staring at me wide eyed.
Yup that is how I felt when I first read it.
“What do we do now?” I look at each and everyone of them. “Now we get ready for war.”
