“How could this be. I had so much planned in life and now you tell me I’m going to be a freaking weapon.” Kate wined. Jess nodded in agreement as she clung on to her, trying to comfort her.

I sighed. I knew this conversation would not turn out well. We were all in the kitchen, as they had breakfast and we explained to them what would happen to them. Which they obviously panicked over.

Everyone was complaining except for Jules, who sat in the corner quietly trapped in her own world. She was panicked alright.

Kate grabbed a tissue wiping away her tears. “It’s so not fair that we'll all go in and you will be the only one not being led to your death!”

Marcus stood up. “Hey! Get a grip guys. We can prevent this if we all stick together.”

“How can that be if we just lost Taylor.” Jules silently whispered, coming out of her trance.

“It's your damn fault, if you would have just told us sooner we would have been able to save Taylor! I can feel it, she’s alive, but for how long!”

Every word Jess said stabbed me in the guts. I couldn’t handle it anymore. She was right, It was all on me. Their faces as they knew the truth made me run out the door. I was going to run to the end of the world. Until my dream was ruined, as Marcus grabbed hold of my arm.

“Don’t listen to them. They are just getting used to the idea. They’re panicking, but I know they are with you one hundred percent. Just….Just give them time.” Marcus said as I still had my back to him.

I knew that he was right, I just didn’t want to face it. I could have saved her.

He let go of my arm, trusting that I wouldn't make a break for it. “Let's get out of here.”

……

“I called in. They said they will have them under watch for us and put up cameras. It’s the least we can do. I just hope they catch them.” Marcus stated, informing me about the matter at hands.

We were at a beautiful park. Comfortably siting on a bench overlooking the huge amazing water fountain.

“What about you?” I asked logically.

I looked up at him as he still hadn’t answered my question. From the look in his eyes I knew he was hiding something. He saw me looking and he hid it by stating, “Ya me too.” Or maybe that was just my imagination. As it probably just dawned on him that he might leave.

“We need to let off some steam. Come with me.” His eyes twinkled with ideas.

….

“A carnival?!?” I stated with surprise. I thought he meant like…I don’t know what he meant, but definitely not this.

He grinned.

“Come on. Let’s go have some fun!” His inner child was coming out and staring me straight in the face.

I laughed.

….

We spent the day walking around looking at the amazing things. I got a very yummy Funnel Cake, while Marcus commented on how amazing it was that I never got fat and yet I ate so much. You would think I would get offended by that but I knew it was true. What can I say, Food is life.

But being me, I took that comment into my advantage and said if he wanted to apologize and make me forget he ever said that, then he had to get a unicorn face painting.

It was funny watching him grunt and whine. But he eventually wore it proudly, as the kids laughed at him and the parents looked at him funny. I literally couldn’t stop laughing. It had made my day.

“And last but not least, we should go on this ride.” He commented, pointing up towards the beautifully lit up Farris Wheel.

“I’ve never gone on a Farris wheel and I hate to admit it but I’m kind of a little scared of heights. Although, I have always had an interest towards it.” I looked up completely entranced on the beauty of it.

I could feel his gaze on me as he took in my words.

“Well then, now we definitely have to go on it.” He stated, pulling me along.

As we got in I started to panic and tense up.

Marcus noticed it and took hold of my hand. I relaxed as I knew, if I fell he would catch me.

“This is breathtaking.” I stated as we reached the top.

It literally was. The sun was setting and darkness was over coming us, but it was beautiful, as the sky was filled with many colors.

I looked over at Marcus and saw that he was looking at me.

“You're beautiful.” He stated under his breath, as the wind rolled by and captured it.

I blushed. I had never really focused on my looks and to hear someone say that in general was nice, but coming from Marcus, it made me giddy.

We held each others gazes, until I broke the silence, informing him that we were supposed to be getting off already.

I started to chuckle, as he flushed.

“Come on. I’m pretty tired.” I said, as I started yawning.
