The next morning, you woke up early to the smell of bacon. Kyungsoo must be up making breakfast. You grabbed your silk robe and slipped it on before going downstairs.

When Kyungsoo saw you, he gave you a weak smile. You knew it would be awhile before things would go back to normal. For now, you all had to adjust to life without Jongin.

"Morning, (y/n). Would you like some coffee?" Kyungsoo asked, stirring some gravy in a pan. You nodded and wrapped your arms around yourself.

"How are you doing, Kyungsoo?" You asked as he handed you a cup and your favorite creamer.

"I'm still a little shaken up but other than that, I'm okay. How's Jongdae? I know him and Jongin were close." Kyungsoo asked, draining the bacon grease as he spoke.

"Honestly, he's not okay... He slept pressed against me the whole night and I swear I could hear him whimpering and whining in his sleep. It hurts me to see him in so much pain." You sighed. Kyungsoo nodded and looked at you.

"I know. It's the mate connection. You feel every emotion he feels but stronger and the same goes for him. It sucks, from what I've heard." He said, whisking some eggs. You nodded before taking a sip of your coffee.

Suddenly, you felt arms around you and your mate's scent surrounded you. Jongdae nuzzled into your neck, leaving soft kisses.

"Why'd you wake up so early?" He mumbled, his morning voice adamant. You cupped his cheek and left a chaste kiss on his lips.

"I couldn't sleep." You said softly as Kyungsoo handed Jongdae a mug of hot tea and a saucer with cream and sugar on it. Jongdae sat on the stool next to you and started to dress his tea.

"How are you feeling?" You asked. Jongdae shook his head as he poured in his cream.

"I'm not okay." He mumbled. He looked awful. His skin was pale and there were dark circles under his eyes. You rested a hand on his thigh and gave him a soft smile.

"Things will get better. I promise." You said softly before he leaned in to kiss you.

"I love you. I can't imagine going through this without you." Jongdae sighed. You rested your head on his shoulder and he kissed your head.

"You never have to go through anything without me. I will always be here." You smiled at him. He smiled back weakly before Kyungsoo put a plate in front of him.

"Eat. You need your strength." He said before handing you a plate as well.

"Soo, I'm really not hungry at all." Jongdae groaned, pushing his plate away.

"Baby, please eat. You'll feel a little bit better. Eat a little bit and we can cuddle all day. That sound like a plan? No stress or duties, just me, you, and our bed." You said, making him pull the plate back towards him before he started to take small bites at a time. Kyungsoo made eye contact with you and mouthed 'Thank you' before plating the food and setting the table.

"Do you need help?" You asked as you noticed the small Wolf lug two huge plates of eggs to the table.

"No, sweetheart. You eat. He needs more help than I do." Kyungsoo said, making Jongdae growl at him. You stroked his arm to calm him down.

"I don't need help... I just don't wanna be alone." Jongdae sighed. You kissed his cheek and hugged him.

"You will never be alone, baby." You said as Jongdae relaxed. He huffed and went back to eating. You started to eat as well, sighing as the food warmed you up.

Once you were finished, the rest of the pack started to wake up. They all looked the same as Jongdae. They all looked heart broken. All except one.

"(y/n)! I did it! I found a cure! I stayed up all night working on it and I found the antidote! You're not gonna die!" Tao said excitedly as he bounced out of his lab. Jongdae perked up at the sound of the good news. They were what he needed to hear right now.

"Really?! Oh my goodness! Thank you so much, Tao!" You said happily, hugging the healer as he spun you around. Jongdae followed you as Tao led you into the lab. You sat down on the exam table and Tao grabbed the antidote, a needle and a syringe before approaching you. He tied up a strip of rubber around your arm so he could find the vein before he injected you with the antidote. Jongdae held your hand tight as you winced.

"Done." Tao smiled, untying the rubber and tossing the needle away. Jongdae hugged you tighter and buried his face in your neck.

"I've already lost so much. I'm so happy I'm not losing you." He cried. You hugged him tighter and kissed his head.

"I told you I wasn't going anywhere." You smiled as he kissed you passionately.
