You didn't get much sleep that night. Soomi was up constantly wanting to be fed and Jongdae couldn't help much in that area as much as he had wanted to. When you had finally gotten a few, consecutive hours of sleep, the sun was up. You could never sleep with Jongdae when the sun was up because he liked sleeping with the curtains open. The sun would warm him up and he would know it was time to get up. For you, the sun hurt your eyes and it told you that your time for rest was over.
When the dreadful sun made it's appearance, you rolled out of bed and went to check on Soomi. You almost screamed at what you saw. A small Wolf pup lay in the bassinet where your baby used to be. She had light brown and white flecks all over her black pelt and her ears subconsciously twitched in her sleep.
"J-Jongdae, Jongdae wake up!" You hissed until your mate's sloppy hair made an appearance.
"What's wrong?" He asked groggily. You pointed to the bassinet and he jumped out of bed to take a look. He smiled at what he saw.
"She really is mine..." He smiled softly before shifting. He nudged her gently with his nose, earning a small squeak from her.
"What?! That's her Wolf form?" You asked. Jongdae nodded before going back to his human form. He gently picked her up and cradled the small pup in his arms.
"Yes it is. I think it's only fair that you name her."
"What? Name her again? She already has a name." You scoffed as you watched your daughter nuzzle closer to her father.
"Remember? Wolves have two names. Her name is Soomi, yes, but her Wolf form is unnamed."
You thought for a minute before you settled on a name.
"Jangmi." You said as you stroked her ear softly. Jongdae smiled and nodded as he nuzzled his face into Jangmi's fur.
"Perfect. She'll be the prettiest rose in The Forest." Jongdae beamed proudly.
After a few minutes, Jangmi shifted in her father's arms, returning to her human state. You took her out of his arms and held her close.
"I'm so hungry. Let's go get some food." You said, following Jongdae out of the room. Everyone was downstairs already except for Baekhyun. After his mate passed, he never came out. Kyungsoo would bring him food after every meal but he would never join the meetings, the runs, or anything the pack did together.
"Oh my god! She's so small!" Chanyeol gasped when he saw you carrying the baby. You smiled and kissed Soomi's head as he spoke.
"Isn't she? Would you like to hold her?" You asked. You had never seen the General look so afraid in all your life.
"H-Hold the baby??" He asked worriedly. You nodded and he gently took her from you as careful as he could. Jongdae's eyes never left him, keeping careful watch over his daughter. Chanyeol smiled down at the baby in his arms, giggling when she sneezed.
"Bless you, sweet princess!" He cooed. Chanyeol had never acted like this and it made you smile.
Suddenly, a door opened upstairs and Baekhyun came out. He looked ragged and unkept. The bags under his eyes were prominent and he looked like he had lost some weight.
"Baekhyun! It's so nice to see you! Did you hear? (y/n) had her baby!" Minseok said excitedly as he watched the small child in Chanyeol's arms. Baekhyun walked closer to the baby, ignoring the older Wolf's excitement as he stared down at the little girl.
"She's cute. What'd you name her?" He mumbled, not showing any sign of emotion. Jongdae swallowed a lump in his throat before responding.
"Soomi... We thought we'd keep her memory alive by giving her her name." Your mate said softly. Everyone saw Baekhyun go stiff. He bit his lip before turning to look away from the child.
"She'd love that... She'd love her so much..." Baekhyun whimpered as tears streaked down his face.
"Oh, Baek... I'm sorry..." You said softly as you hugged him close to you. The Wolf sobbed into your neck.
"I miss her so much! I'm a fucking mess without her!" He whined. You stroked his head as he cried. Jongdae took Soomi from Chanyeol and brought her over to Baekhyun.
"Hey, baby girl. Uncle Baekkie isn't doing so good. Why don't we give him cuddles to make him feel better?" He said as he placed the baby in Baekhyun's arms. He sniffed and smiled down at her as if she was his own.
"Hi, S-Soomi. I'm your Uncle Baekhyun. Your auntie would have loved you to pieces if she was here right now. You're so pretty like your Eomma. I hope I get to see you grow up big and strong." He whimpered as he stroked Soomi's head as she opened her eyes. He was the first person she saw with her eyes. Now, in the Wolf world, this is called imprinting. An imprint is usually made by the father or the mother and they would vow to always protect them but Baekhyun did something that was very frowned upon. He imprinted on a baby before her parents did.
Baekhyun realized what he had done and started to immediately apologize.
"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!" He panicked. You grabbed your daughter out of his arms and checked her for any physical damages.
"What did you do?" Jongdae growled, pushing Baekhyun against the wall. Junmyeon tried to interfere but Jongdae pushed him away.
"Jongdae, I swear, it was an accident!" Baekhyun cried.
"What did you do, Baekhyun?" You screamed, holding your daughter against your chest. The sudden noise scared Soomi and she started to cry. Jongdae stared deep into Baekhyun's eyes before tossing him to the floor. He knew what he had done and he was furious.
"YOU IMPRINTED ON MY DAUGHTER!" He screamed. Baekhyun cowered in fear.
"I'm sorry!!" He whimpered.
"Dae, what does that mean?" You asked worriedly.
"It means that when she becomes of age, Baekhyun will be her mate!" Jongdae snarled down at the frightened Wolf. You glared at Baekhyun, not knowing how anybody could do such a horrible thing to a child that hadn't been alive for more than a few hours.
"Jongdae, go for a run. You need to calm down before we do anything about this." Junmyeon growled, interfering before anything got too crazy. Your mate huffed and ran outside, shifting and running out into The Forest. Soomi was still crying so Tao helped you over to the couch and covered your chest with a blanket, allowing you to breast feed her. This was a difficult situation and there didn't seem to be a way around it.
