Chapter 25

After a few minutes of holding your daughter, Jongdae quickly handed her back to you when he heard a loud crash from downstairs.

"Dae, what was that?" You asked worriedly, holding tighter onto your baby girl.

"I don't know. Stay in here, no matter what you hear. I'll keep you safe. I'll keep you both safe." He said as he pressed his forehead against yours. He could feel the immense love that poured out of you and it gave him the confidence to protect his small family. You nodded and watched him leave the room, leaving you alone with the baby.

Meanwhile, Minseok, Kyungsoo, and Chanyeol were trying to stop Yoongi from going upstairs.

"Get out of our home! Leave Jongdae alone!" Kyungsoo growled.

"Nah. What kind of a Wolf leaves a fight? None that I've heard of." Yoongi snarled as Minseok tried to grab him away from the staircase. Jongdae pressed himself against his bedroom door, knowing that if Yoongi saw him, things would turn ugly. Even when the packs were on good terms, Yoongi and himself were never cordial to each other. They both hated each other.

"Get the fuck out of here, Yoongi! We don't need to tell you his business." Chanyeol growled. Yoongi punched Chanyeol, making him fall backwards. The General touched the corner of his mouth and saw blood. The sight made him angry.

"You've messed with us for the last time." Chanyeol growled again, shifting into his Wolf form. Yoongi was always intimidated by Chanyeol so he ran outside before Chanyeol chased him.

Once Jongdae knew he was safe, he walked downstairs to find Minseok and Kyungsoo.

"Jongdae! Thank god you're okay! Why'd you leave the fight?!" Kyungsoo asked worriedly.

"Because, well... I'm a dad now!" He smiled. Minseok's face dropped before he ran upstairs.

"Hey!" Jongdae growled, chasing him up the stairs as Kyungsoo followed.

"Oh my goodness!" Minseok said softly, coming closer to your bed until Jongdae pushed himself between him and you.

"What do you think you're doing?!" Jongdae questioned.

"Babe, it's okay. He can see her." You giggled as you pushed Jongdae out of the way.

"Boy or girl?" Minseok asked, completely ignoring Jongdae's behavior.

"Girl. We don't have a name picked out yet." You said, lightly stroking your baby girl's face.

"I have one." Jongdae spoke up. You turned your head to look at him.

"What's that?"

"Soomi." He smiled, remembering the she-Wolf and how close his mate had been with her. You pressed your lips together as tears clouded your vision. You stared at your baby and smoothed down the small amount of hair she had. You nodded and looked back at him, tears pouring down your face.

  "She'd love that. Soomi. Kim Soomi. Yeah..." You smiled down at your baby as you cried. You hadn't thought about your friend much over the past few weeks and now you would never forget her.

  Jongdae pushed past Minseok and Kyungsoo and wrapped an arm around your shoulder. He leaned down and kissed your head.

  "I love you so much. She would be so proud of you. I just know it." He said softly. You nodded and wiped away your tears. Minseok sat down on the edge of your bed and stared at the baby in your arms. It had been a long time since he had seen anything that small.

  "C-Can I hold her?" He asked, afraid to ruin the moment. You laughed and nodded. Jongdae took Soomi out of your arms and gently placed her into Minseok's. The older Wolf smiled down at the little girl as Kyungsoo peaked over his shoulder.

  "Hi, honey. I'm Uncle Minseok but you can call me Uncle Minnie. You're so pretty. You have great parents. I've known your Appa for a long time and he would kill to protect you. You'll be safe and loved here, little one." He whispered as he poked her chin softly. Kyungsoo walked around to kiss her forehead as he just stared at her silently.

  Suddenly, yet another loud crash sounded from downstairs and loud yelling broke the silence.

  "YOONGI, NO!" Chanyeol bellowed. Minseok quickly handed the baby back to Jongdae and followed Kyungsoo downstairs.

  "Dae, please don't go!" You whimpered as he handed the baby to you. He kissed you passionately before speaking.

  "Listen, Yoongi is very dangerous. He wants nothing more than to destroy me. I don't want him to see you or Soomi. He could kill you both to get to me. I don't want to lose you. I'll be okay." He said before running downstairs.

  "Ah ha!! There's the man of the hour! I thought I smelled something sweet. How's the little one? I'd love to meet her..." Yoongi snarled as his lips curled into an evil smile.

  "You aren't laying a claw on her. Leave. Now!" Jongdae growled. Yoongi chuckled and punched Minseok before walking closer to Jongdae.

  "You don't tell me what to do." He growled. Jongdae pushed Yoongi away, punching him repeatedly until he has stumbled outside and off the front porch. Seokjin was tending to the pup's wounds while Namjoon and Hoseok were conversing with Junmyeon.

  "Thanks for controlling your fucking dog!" Jongdae screamed at Namjoon. The alpha looked up and noticed Yoongi on the ground.

  "Yoongi, I thought I told you to stop. The fighting is over.."

  "I can't stand this prick! He needed to be put in his place!" Yoongi spat out a tooth and some blood as he spoke. Junmyeon walked over and grabbed Yoongi by the shirt and dragged him over to Seokjin.

  "Take care of his wounds. Don't let him out of your sight." He mumbled before going to stand beside Jongdae. Flora came out from the corner of the porch and stood beside Junmyeon.

  "Your time is done here, Namjoon. Take your pack and go." The alpha ordered. Namjoon nodded and gathered his Wolves before they all shifted and ran into the Forest.

  Once they were gone, Flora turned to Jongdae.

  "Tao said she had the baby but he told me to wait to see her. Is everything okay? Can I see her now?" She asked worriedly. Jongdae nodded and walked with her to his room. She smiled when she saw you.

  "Mama!" You sighed as she ran over to hug you. She gasped when she saw Soomi, immediately taking her from you.

  "Hi, sweet girl. Oh, hello. You look so much like your mommy. What's her name?" She asked.

  "Soomi." Jongdae said, smiling at you.

"Oh, that's so sweet. She would be so proud of you both. I know I didn't have the opportunity to know her as long as you did but from what I saw, she was an amazing woman. This little girl is more than worthy of her name." Your mother sighed as she stared down at the sleeping baby in her arms.

"She really was." You nodded as you watched your mother rock your daughter back and forth.

A few minutes went by before a knock sounded and Junmyeon entered the room.

"Congratulations, you both. Thanks to you, the pack gains a new member today." He smiled as he admired the sleeping baby.

"Isn't she perfect, dear? Little Soomi." Flora smiled as Junmyeon leaned down to plant a kiss on the little girl's forehead.

"Very good name." Junmyeon smiled at Jongdae as your mate nodded.

  After your mother had had her fill, she handed Soomi to Jongdae and left the room with Junmyeon behind her. Your mate sat down next to you as he admired his daughter.

  "I won't let anything happen to you. I promise." He said softly as he kissed the small baby's head as she slept. You smiled at your mate and daughter, wondering how you had gotten so lucky.
