After a few minutes of laying on the ground, Tao and Minseok helped Jongdae up. The injured Wolf growled in pain as he was moved. You helped your mother stand before leading her inside with the rest of the pack. You sat her down on the ottoman before joining Tao next to where Jongdae had been placed on the couch. His breathing was labored and he was still bleeding. Tao was in a panic. He didn't know what else to do. He tried his healing powers but that barely helped. The wound seemed to keep getting worse.
"What's going on, Tao? Why is he not getting better?" You asked, stroking Jongdae's arm in an attempt to calm him down. He was sweating and every now and then, he would grunt in pain.
"I don't know. I've tried everything... I've failed..." Tao whimpered. Jongdae held tightly onto your hand as he started to grow pale.
"Baby, please don't leave me... It h-hurts..." Jongdae whined. He was crying and it hurt you to see him like this. You cupped his face in your hands and kissed him.
"I'm not going anywhere, honey. I'm staying right here. You're gonna be okay. We'll find a way to stop the bleeding. I promise." You cried with him, starting to feel your connection to him fading. He wasn't talking about you leaving. He was talking about him. He was dying and there was nothing you could do to stop it.
"No, Dae... Please, no... Stay with me, okay?? Don't leave me... Keep your eyes on me, baby, okay? I'm right here. I'm right here..." You sobbed as your mate's eyes started to close. You felt you mother's hand on your back before you started to sob into Jongdae's chest.
"Here. Try this. It might help." She said softly, pushing something into your hand. You looked down and saw a sprig of Wolfsbane. You glared at her before wiping your tears.
"This could kill him! I'm trying to save him!" You sobbed. Your mother shook her head and closed your hand over the herb.
"That's just what we told the children in the village. Wolfsbane actually has healing properties. Make a tea and make him drink it. I promise, it will help." She insisted.
"He doesn't have that kind of time. He's dying faster than I can heal him." Tao sighed, wiping a tear from his eye.
Suddenly, your mother pushed past you and picked the herb off its stem and pushed pieces of it into Jongdae's mouth. He swallowed them down with a look of disgust. After a few minutes, the blood stopped coming and his breathing was normal again. Jongdae's grip on your hand tightened and the color was returning to his skin.
"That was disgusting..." He sighed, making you and Tao cheer. You kissed his face while Tao quickly bandaged up the wound.
"Thank god..." You cried as you felt that familiar bond return. Your mate was alive.
"Can I have some water?" Jongdae asked. You just laughed and kissed him.
"You can have whatever you want, baby." You smiled, getting up to get him some water.
When you came back, you hugged your mother and cried again.
"Thank you, mama. You saved his life. Thank you so much." You whimpered as your mother stroked your hair.
"You're welcome, my beautiful girl. I love you. Your father would be so proud of you and the life you've made for yourself. I know I am." She said softly, rocking you as you cried into her shoulder.
Jongdae sat up slowly with a low groan and placed a hand on your back.
"Baby, I'm so sorry about your father. I could feel the pain you felt when that bastard said the news. I wish there was a way for me to bring him back. You're mother's right. I'm sure he would be proud of you. I love you and I'm always going to be here for you. Stab wounds or not. I'm here to stay." Your mate said softly, making you turn around and hug him gingerly. He smiled and wrapped his arms around you.
"I love you, Dae." You sobbed as your mother rubbed your back. Jongdae kissed your head and rocked you until you stopped crying.
"We're free of Minho." Chanyeol grunted, walking inside. He was covered in blood and his teeth were stained red. Junmyeon rolled his eyes and stared at the General.
"Too far." Junmyeon sighed, pointing at the stairs as a way to tell Chanyeol to go shower.
"You better not touch my white walls!" Kyungsoo growled.
"Just 'cause you said that, now I'm gonna use the walls as a bath towel!" Chanyeol sneered before bolting up the stairs. Kyungsoo followed him, waving the broom in the air menacingly. You laughed before wiping your nose.
"Miss (y/m/n), would you give us the honor to house you? I wouldn't let you stay alone in your house unprotected." Minseok asked calmly, looking to Junmyeon for approval. The alpha nodded, making you smile. Your mother smiled and held your hand before responding.
"I would love to." She said happily, making you cheer and hug her close. Life was getting better despite the battles you and the pack have had to fight.
