A Moonlit Dream

Chapter 39

Chanyeol and Minseok walked inside and found Junmyeon and Flora sitting on the couch. Flora was bouncing Soomi on her lap gently as Jongdae watched fondly. Minseok cleared his throat and Junmyeon looked up.

"Oh, hello boys. How did it go?" Junmyeon asked. Chanyeol motioned for him to come back outside and he followed. He leans over to kiss Soomi's head and closed the front door behind him.

"What did you find?"

"I found his scent and followed the asshole and I found him. He told me that he was taking Jangmi back to his pack to use her as a slave. According to him, his pack uses Wolf pups as slaves because they 'don't fight back'. I'm assuming they kill the pups once they get to be too old." Chanyeol explained. He watched the look on the alpha's face change from a soft expression to anger.

"And you, Minseok. How are the borders?"

"Not good, sir. Someone's been trying to remove them. I remarked everything but who knows if they try to do it again..."

"This has gone too far. This means war! This new pack is going to pay for this! You both have done well. Get some rest. I'll inform the rest of the pack of my plans." Junmyeon said before leading the three of them back inside.

  When they opened the door, Jongdae stood up.

  "Did you find him?" He asked. Chanyeol looked to Junmyeon, asking permission before he spoke. The alpha nodded.

  "We did find him. He was trying to take her to his pack to use her as a slave. I'm sorry, Dae. We are doing everything in our power to destroy him and his pack." The general said softly. At Chanyeol's words, Jongdae's eyes turned red. He tried to walk out of the front door but Junmyeon and Minseok held him back.

"Jongdae, I understand you're upset. Please, you can't do anything yet. We need to hang tight and come up with a plan that won't get anyone hurt." Minseok said softly, using his powers to calm down the Wolf. Jongdae's eyes turned brown again but he still seemed upset.

"I just want my baby to be safe. It's all I want..." He sighed.

"I know, Dae. We want her to be safe just as much as you do." Minseok sighed as Flora set Soomi down and the small toddler waddled over to her father.

"Appa!" She giggled. Jongdae smiled down at her and picked her up. He nuzzled her forehead as she placed her hands on his cheeks. Minseok, Chanyeol and Junmyeon watched fondly at the scene in front of them.

"We will do everything we can to keep her safe. I promise." Junmyeon said before going upstairs to his room, Flora following him. Chanyeol and Minseok patted him on the back before going their separate ways. Jongdae kissed his baby's head and settled down on the couch with her. After a few minutes, Soomi had fallen asleep on his chest. He felt content in that moment so he decided to do the same, closing his eyes and letting sleep take over him.
