Chapter 37

Jongdae walked down the stairs to see Junmyeon and Flora sitting in the living room. When they noticed him, they both smiled.

"How's parent life, Jongdae?" Flora asked with a smile.

"It's a little tough right now. Hey, Junmyeon, can I talk to you for a second?" He asked seriously. Junmyeon could tell that something was wrong and stood up.

"Lead the way." The alpha said before Jongdae led the way outside. He stared at the now open hole in the brush where the larger black Wolf had come from. Jongdae sighed before pointing to the hole.

"Jangmi was attacked by a Wolf. It wasn't anyone I've seen before."

"A new pack maybe?" Junmyeon asked.

"I don't know but I'm worried for my pup's safety. He was trying to take her somewhere but I stopped him before he could. He got away." Jongdae explained. Junmyeon nodded as he took in the new information.

  "I'll send Chanyeol and Minseok to scope it out. Don't worry, Jongdae. We won't let anything happen to your little girl." Junmyeon said softly as he placed a hand on the younger Wolf's back.

"Thank you, hyung. I was so scared. I know how you feel when one of us gets hurt now. Helpless. You want to do everything in your power to protect us but sometimes you can't and it hurts. It hurt so much hearing her in pain. Hyung, I was so scared..." Jongdae whimpered before tears poured down his face. It's been months since Jongdae had cried but it's been years since he cried to Junmyeon. The alpha sighed before hugging his little brother close to his chest, tucking his head into his neck.

  "Shhh... It's alright. It's okay. She's safe now, Dae. I won't let anything happen to her and I promise you that. I love her just as much as you do. I'm here for her. I'm here for all of you. You're my pack and I will risk my life to protect yours." Junmyeon said softly as he rocked Jongdae in his arms. The younger Wolf sniffed before pulling away from his alpha, wiping his tears away.

  "T-Thank you... I'll go check on my girls. They're probably wondering where I am." He said before jogging back into the house. Junmyeon watched him go before sending a thought to Minseok and Chanyeol.

  "Come outside. We have serious business to attend to." He said before the two Wolves he wanted to see appear almost immediately.

  "What's up, Junmyeon?" Chanyeol asked, crossing his arms as Minseok cocked his head.

  "We have a big issue. There is a Wolf in the Forest that has attacked our youngest pack member. Jongdae says he is a black Wolf larger than himself. Apparently, he tried to take our little one off somewhere and injured her in the process. We need to find him and put an end to this. I won't stand for someone attacking a child." The alpha said seriously. Minseok looked shocked that someone would do something so terrible to a baby. Chanyeol's jaw tightens as he listens in silence.

  "What do you want us to do?" Minseok asked, ready to defend the pack.

  "Track him down, Chanyeol. Minseok, I want you to refresh our borders. I want every single Wolf in this Forest to know where they cannot cross. Now, Chan, if you find him, don't try to start anything. Interrogate. Do not attack! That is an order!" Junmyeon said sternly. Chanyeol nodded before shifting and bounding towards the hole in the brush. Minseok watched him go before shifting as well and taking off towards the blackberry bushes to start remarking the borders.

  Junmyeon watched his two warriors go off on their assigned tasks, sighing before he went back inside.
