Baekhyun sobbed as each member of the pack left the room. The only one that stayed was Minseok, who continued to rub the younger Wolf's back as he cradled Soomi's body. Baekhyun choked on his sobs. His chest hurt, feeling like his heart was being squeezed and stripped free of its life. Soomi was cold now.

"I'm sorry... I'm so so sorry..." Baekhyun cried, rocking his mate's lifeless body. He was lost. She was the first mate to enter the house. She was special to everyone. He didn't know what to do without her.

"You'll be okay, Baekhyun. I'm here. It will be okay." Minseok said softly.

"My ch-chest hurts... Our connection is gone, hyung..." Baekhyun gasped, not being able to breath clearly due to the pain. Minseok gently pried Baekhyun away from Soomi's body and sat down in front of him. He placed his hands on his chest and used his power of security to make Baekhyun feel better. Minseok may have seemed like the wimpier leader but his skill was very important. He was the mother of the pack, making sure everyone felt safe and secure.

"Relax, Baekhyun. Take deep breaths for me. Focus on the warmth. Good. Keep breathing. Everything's gonna be alright. We'll take everyday one step at a time, yeah?" Minseok asked, making Baekhyun nod. The younger Wolf wiped his eyes and hugged his brother.

"I'm so sorry that this happened, Baek. She was beautiful and amazing in every way. This is horrible." Minseok said softly. Baekhyun whimpered before Junmyeon came out again. Minseok noticed he was taking Soomi's body and he immediately placed a hand on the back of Baekhyun's head. Baekhyun tried to turn in an attempt to stop his alpha but Minseok held onto him.

"Junmyeon, please! Just let me have her for a few more minutes. Please!" He cried as he reached out to his mate. Minseok continued to hold the younger Wolf tightly, making sure he wasn't going anywhere.

"You can help with the dirt ceremony. We need to bury her soon before she gets lost. Her spirit is wandering around trying to find home. You wouldn't want her to leave the house, right?" Junmyeon said softly but sternly. Baekhyun shook his head as Minseok let him go.

"Then let's go. Seok, go get everyone rounded up. I'll meet you outside." Junmyeon ordered before carrying Soomi's body outside. Baekhyun wipes his face, sighing before following Junmyeon outside. After a few more minutes, you and the rest of the pack had gathered outside. Jongdae kissed you before shifting like everyone else. Your mother came to stand next to you on the porch, wrapping an arm around your waist. You rested your head on her shoulder, keeping the silence.

Junmyeon started the ceremony by digging the earth out with his paw, starting the circle that would signal to everyone to take turns digging out the dirt. You watched as Baekhyun's head hung low the entire time. He looked so broken. You couldn't imagine how Jongdae would feel if that were you.

As the pack finished making the hole, Suho motioned for Baekhyun to put Soomi's body in the ground. The younger Wolf approached the body but couldn't bring himself to touch it without whining. His body shook with silent sobs. You noticed Jongdae break away from the circle and nudge Baekhyun gently with his head, letting him know that he didn't have to do it alone. Baekhyun nodded before Jongdae wiggled his head under Soomi's back and gently guided her onto his back. Baekhyun gently nosed her cheek with his snout before allowing Jongdae to walk with him towards the hole. Jongdae shook Soomi off of him gently, tucking Baekhyun's head into his neck as the younger Wolf howled out in pain.

You buried your head into your mother's neck, feeling Baekhyun's pain as your best friend was buried. After the pack had finished, they all shifted. You ran down the porch steps and hugged Baekhyun close to you. He hid his face in your shoulder as he sobbed.

"Shhh... I know... I miss her too. We're gonna be okay. I promise." You whispered. Baekhyun nodded before Minseok approached you.

"Let me take him." He whispered. You nodded before passing Baekhyun off. Jongdae wrapped his arms around you and buried his head in your neck, you doing the same.

"Are you okay?" He asked you, rubbing your back as you cried. You shook your head as you clung to him. He held you tighter and rocked you back and forth.

"You're gonna be okay. I know this is hard for you and Baekhyun but I'm always here for you. You'll never be alone, baby girl. I'm right here." Jongdae whispered, ending his statement with a kiss on your head. You nodded before pulling away. You looked up, trying to stop more tears from flowing down your cheeks.

"I just feel so bad for Baekhyun. He loved her so much. Dae, he's in so much pain. I can feel it." You whimpered as Jongdae guided you back inside.

"I know, baby. I can too. I know it sucks now but I promise you things will get better." Jongdae said softly as he led you upstairs and into your bedroom.
