Abandonment

They say you'll never be abandoned
That they will always remain
They promise you that they'll
Always be around
Sometime these promises are broken

Homes crumble
You start to long for something
But your not sure what
When a person shows up
You become afraid

Mostly since you think
They will leave you
Just like everyone out
So to protect yourself
You put walls up around yourself

Think about someone or something
That you saw all alone
With a smile on there face
That didn't quite reach there eyes
They mostly were feeling abandoned

Think of that stray you saw
On the side of the road
That stray once had an home
It was once loved and warmed
Now it's cold and lost

The feeling overwhelmed you
As you realize that no one is waiting
No one cared where you were
A wound cut so deep
That it won't ever fully fade away

If someone were to leave
It would be best to have an explanation
Cause the worse pain comes
From not being worth knowing
Why that person is leaving

Slamming the door
Locking it to never come back
I now understand why
I fear being abandoned
Even though I once was by friends

I really tried with this one to show how being abandoned felt. If there any mistakes feel free to let me know. So I can edit it. Please enjoy..
