"I had fallen in love with a girl when I was a boy." I began.

"Who was she Papa?" My youngest son asked me, sitting on my knee.

"Well, she was royalty. And she wasn't snobby at all." I answered him.

"And was she beautiful, Papa?" My youngest daughter asked.

"Oh yes, quite beautiful." I smiled at the thought of her.

"Well how did you fall in love with her?" Susan's youngest daughter asked me, thoughtfully.

"Well, we were at a ball. But I didn't meet her when we were dancing. I met her when it was past curfew and I heard crying. She was in a guest room, in a silk white night gown. The curtains blowing in the breeze coming through the open window. She had her head down in her hands and she was sobbing. Violently if I do recall." I looked over at my wife and she smiled.

"Oh Edmund." She laughed.

"And she saw me come in and she apologized for having woken me up. And I said it was no problem. Then she explained to me that she had dated a jerkface Prince, so I slept in her bedroom to keep her company. And I fell in love with her from the moment I saw her beautiful (y/e/c) eyes. And I wanted so badly for her to love me to." I smiled at her and saw her blush slightly.

"And I knee that she did when she kissed me under the oak tree outside the castle where we engraved our initials." I continued making her smile and close her eyes as she remembered it.

"What happened to her?" My son asked me, looking up at me with my wife's (y/e/c) eyes.

"I married her." I smiled.

"You love Mommy?" My son asked me.

"Yes I love her more than I've loved anyone else." I smiled.

"Okay Children, it's time for bed." My wife said gathering the children and sending them off to bed with Danielle, our maid.

As I got up and the children were gone she came over to me, with that beautiful smile on her face. And I smiled back at her. She looked up at me with those same big (y/e/c) eyes she had so many years ago.

"Really? I was no sobbing violently." She rolled her eyes and laughed.

"You so were, (y/n)." I laughed.

"All I know is that the love of my life literally walked through the door when I really needed him." She smiled.

"I can't imagine anyone else being mine (y/n). I needed you. And you are the most beautiful Princess in the world." I said, touching her cheek and pulling her closer.

"And you're the most handsome Prince I could've asked for." She said.

"I'm a King, (y/n)." I laughed, knowing she'd done that one purpose.

"And I'm a Queen, your point is?" She smirked, arms wrapped around my neck while mine were around her waist.

"You're my Queen, (y/n). I wouldn't give a shit if you were a common girl. You're mine. And that's all I ever wanted." I said, leaning down.

And her lips met mine and it felt just like the day she'd kissed me under the oak tree. I knew I loved her, and I knew she loved me. I was safe in her arms in Cair Parvail and I knew she was always going to be mine.
