I watched as the blonde girl whisked Edmund away across the cafeteria floor. The place suddenly didn't seem to glitter so brightly. My best friend, (y/b/f) noticed I was alone and excused herself from her boyfriend to come see me.

"(y/n), what's going on?" She asked.

"It's nothing, I swear." I laughed slightly.

"(y/n), I'm not blind." She sighed.

"Yeah so the guy I'm completely in love with is finally 17, like we were in that place. And I already know he doesn't love me." I sighed, holding it all back.

"Oh (y/n), come on this is a fast waltz, nobody dances with someone they care about during these dances." She laughed.

"You sound so proper, (y/b/f)." I laughed.

Then everything stopped for a second and the blonde girl was whisked away by what I assumed was her boyfriend by the way he kissed her before they started dancing. The music died and the DJ began playing Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran and it was pronounced a slow dance. Edmund immediately approached me and I smiled.

"Sorry for the interruption earlier. But, may I?" He asked.

"Of course." I said.

He took my hand and (y/b/f) disappeared, going back to her boyfriend as I assumed. We went towards the center of the dance floor and began to danced in a sort of waltz style.

"I'm sorry we were interrupted. That's my cousin, Nala. She's visiting from America with her fancy boyfriend." He explained nodding towards the two slow dancing a few feet away from us.

"Oh okay." I smiled. I felt bad for assuming something was between them.

"So as I was saying, you're gorgeous. And this time, I hope I won't get interrupted. I-" He began.

"(y/n)!" Someone came up to us, it was my sister (y/s/n).

"Can we talk in a second I'm kind of busy." I said.

"Okay." She smiled and winked.

"Jesus Christ people just let me tell (y/n) what I need to say." Edmund said making me laugh.

"Okay tell me." I smiled.

"I love you. So much. Ever since we were 9 and a half and you kissed me on the cheek. I didn't even know what that feeling was called, (y/n). But when I got older I started to understand. I understood that I loved everything about you. And I needed to tell you, and why not tonight, when you look so beautiful as you always have and do." He said.

"Edmund, I love you too. And I have loved you ever since we were 9 and a half the day before that when you held my hand in the dark closet during hide and go seek." I said.

"(y/n), I've never loved anyone else. It's always been you, my fair lady." He smiled.

And with that was kissed. Soft, delicate, silk. And I left myself fall into it, fall into the feeling. And I closed my eyes. My Fair Lady was all I was thinking at that moment. I was just any Fair Lady, I was his. And I liked that.
