Chapter Thirteen: Admitting

Astrid climbed out of the hot tub and went to bed. Rapunazel went to get something from Jack. "His staff, I bet." Astrid thought.

"You do not need to get Jack's staff. I won't run away to go see Hiccup. When he's better the teachers will come and get us." Astrid snapped.

"Ok." Rapunazel said and climbed into bed.

"I'm going to nickname you Rap." Astrid muttered as she went to sleep.

The next morning Astrid woke up before Rap and decided to wake her up.

"Hey Rap wake up!" Astrid said as she dunked her into the hot tub.

"What was that for and did you just call me Rap?" Rap sputtered.

"To wake you up and yes I did it's your new nickname!" Astrid said proudly. They got Jack and woke him up in the same way. They went down to the Great Hall to get breakfast and Astrid seemed happy enough, -until Jack brought up Hiccup.

"So, do you think we'll be able to see Hiccup today?" Jack wondered aloud, and then Astrid jumped up and ran away in tears.

"Good job, Jack." Rap said, glaring at him before jumping up to go after Astrid.

Just after Rap had left to talk to Astrid, Professor Potter came up to talk to him. She looked tired and had dark circles under her eyes.

"I have a message for you and your friends. A St. Mungo's Healer came in last night and said that Hiccup has fallen in a strange coma that she can't figure out. There may be no hope left for Hiccup and it may be time to send him home. He will most likely die here or at St. Mungo's. Oh, and Hiccup caught the Snitch. I thought you'd want to know." She said.

"Well, I know that Astrid wants to see him, so after breakfast I'll get the girls and go up to the hospital wing, then we'll decide." Jack said, noticing, while that a moment ago he'd been hungry, but now he was not. His friend was going to die, and he could do nothing about it. Some of the other Gryffindors noticed that Jack was not eating and asked,

"Hey, are you okay?" Jack just nodded in return and slowly got up and left the table to find the girls.

Astrid was crying.

"I was fine until Jack mentioned Hiccup." She sobbed.

"Hey, I bet we'll get to see Hiccup today and calm down, he'll be fine." Rap said, trying to calm Astrid down.
