My Inspirations.

I've written a lot of books in the last couple years on wattpad, and all of them have came from a little idea.

The book 'Happenings' is about the war. This was inspired by me finding my great grandmother's diary. She had a partner in the war and she stuck in his letters into a notebook. I had to give the diary back, but ever since seeing that I was so inspired.
The sequel to that, 'What Happened' is almost a biography. I lost all my grandparents to dementia. Including my grandmother who died just before I started writing that book. It's just a cause I wanted to reflect and remember, because let's just face it if all my grandparents had it then I'm 100% gonna have it!

The book, The Boat Trip, is actually really close to the heart for me. Especially now.
About two years ago my dad told me about his uncle and aunt Donald and Shirley who were yacht racers and after they retired they sold their house and bought a 45' yacht and sailed around the world.
That was thirty years ago.
Last week I was in Vancouver and I met them for the first time.
Donald has dementia now, and Shirley has cancer. They are both in their late nineties, but I've never seen two lovelier people. They are the sweetest couple, they don't have a yacht anymore but they showed me all the pictures of all their old yachts in black and white. Donald did struggle remembering the journey, but Shirley always reminded him. Little did they know that I'd based a whole book on their journey.

The other books didn't really have any direct inspiration or seed, they had quotes or spin offs from parts of my life or people I admire but I guess that's it :)
