The next morning I am ready to go. I get up and go take a shower. I let my hair air dry into its natural waves. I don’t really worry with it. It’s going to be put into a ponytail anyway. I put on a little bit of makeup. Mainly just eyeliner and mascara, I don’t want to look dead…

I walk back into my bedroom, and put on my “riding” clothes my Nike’s and head downstairs. When I reach the bottom of the stairs the doorbell rings. I look at the wall clock, it’s not quite 9:00 yet, so who is at my house this early? I walk over to the door, and am greeted by the familiar green eyes, and brown messy hair. I smile at Ethan as I take in his riding gear. I swear he looks good in anything.

“Hey Ethan you’re early.” He looks down nervously.

“I know, but I couldn’t wait.” I look at him strangely. He couldn’t wait?

“You couldn’t wait for what?” I ask quietly.

“For this.” He tells me as he walks through the door and takes my face gently in his hands. He looks down at me, and I can see the desire burning in his eyes. The intense longing I can see in his brilliant green eyes is enough to make me knees go weak. I forget how to breathe. My heart has stopped beating, but I don’t care. All that matters to me right now is the man in front of me.

“Ethan” I whisper his name, and I can tell it drives him crazy.

“Skylar” He whispers my name back as he leans down to take my lips in his in a gentle kiss. When our lips finally meet I feel a spark shoot through my body. He pulls away and looks down into my eyes. He smiles at me, and I return his smile.

When he leans back down to capture my lips again, I hear this extremely annoying sound. It takes me a moment to realize that’s its music. I look at Ethan confused… Where is the music coming from? I look around as the room starts to get distorted. I look up in horror as Ethan starts to fade away in front of me.

I see a bright light starting to radiate, and I start freaking out. Am I dead? What is going on? My eyes snap open, and I notice that I am in my bed, in my house, alone… Damn

“I was dreaming!!!” I cry out in frustration hitting my bed with my fist. I realize that the music was my phone ringing. Anyone want to guess who was calling? Anyone at all? If you guessed the woman with the awful timing, also known as my mom, you are right. I finally answer my phone on like the zillionth ring.

“What?” I answer groggily, angrily, exasperated. It was all a dream?

“Well good morning to you too darling.” Came my mom’s entirely too perky voice. I groan loudly into the phone.

“Mom, how can you sound soo happy this early in the morning?” I ask looking at the clock 7:25 is she serious? “Why did you call so early?”

“Well I didn’t want you to oversleep, and also you are going to need to check the air in the tires, eat breakfast, and get ready. Maybe I didn’t have to call this early, but I’m sorry it was in between meetings.” She tells me and I sigh.

“Yeah, you’re right. Sorry I snapped at you.”

“It’s okay sweetie. I’m sorry I woke you up so early. Were you dreaming?” She asks, and I almost fall off of the bed.

“What?” I screech.

“I’ll take that as a yes. It wouldn’t have happened to be about our gorgeous new neighbor would it?” I sit up so fast I made myself dizzy. I open my mouth to speak, but there are no words. “It’s okay darling you don’t have to say anything. I’ll just take your silence as a yes. I think that’s very sweet. You too would look so cute together, and make me very beautiful grandchildren.” When she says this I do fall off the bed. That’s only because I tried to stand up while still wrapped in the covers.
