The rest of my afternoon went by… slowly. After Rae and Ethan left, I put up the clothes that Rae and I bought. Cleaned up my bedroom some, and then I finished what homework I had left from economics. Seriously who gives homework on the weekends? Oh yeah someone with no life.
I glance over at the clock. It reads 7:30, and I wonder if it’s busy at The Shack. The growling of my stomach helps to validate the fact that I need food. I climb off my bed, and head to the bathroom. I take a quick shower, to help pass the time so it’s not busy.
When I get out of the shower, I blow dry my hair some, and let it fall into its normal curls. Then I go into my bedroom in the hunt for clothes. I grab a pair of jeans, and a beige oversized three-quarter length sweater. I get dressed and I pull on a pair of uggs. I know they’re hideous, but they are so warm, and comfortable.
I go back into the bathroom, and put on some quick make-up. I take one last look in the mirror, and then I head out. I grab my phone, purse, and keys and head out the door. A few minutes later I pull into the parking lot. Luckily I see that it’s not busy. I walk in and find Uncle Ray.
“Hey Uncle Ray.” I tell him, walking up to him.
“Hey Skylar, have you talked to your mom and dad?” He asks, and I sigh.
“Yeah I talked to them.” He laughs at me.
“Don’t look so sad, you’re too beautiful for that.” Uncle Ray tells me and I can’t help but smile.
“Thanks Uncle Ray.”
“So what can I get for you tonight?”
“The usual.” I tell him shrugging my shoulders a little.
“I figured as much, it’ll be ready in a few. Now go play something on that piano.” He tells me, walking back into the kitchen. I turn and look around the room, realizing that it’s empty, and I’m glad. I know what song I want to play. It’s been on my mind all day.
Fix a Heart Demi Lovato
It's probably what's best for you
I only want the best for you
And if I'm not the best, then you're stuck
I try to sever ties and I,
Ended up with wounds to bind
Like you're pouring salt in my cuts
And I just ran out of Band-Aids
I don't even know where to start
'Cause you can't bandage the damage,
You never really can fix a heart
Even though I know what's wrong,
How can I be so sure
If you never say what you feel ,feel?
I must have held your hand so tight,
You didn't have the will to fight
I guess you needed more time to heal
Baby I just ran out of Band-Aids
I don't even know where to start
'Cause you can't bandage the damage
You never really can fix a heart
You must be a miracle worker,
Swearin' up and down,
You can't fix what's been broken, yeah
