The week went by lightning fast. It’s now Friday and I’m sitting in Economics almost bored to tears. I am trying to not fall asleep, but Mr. Johnson just has one of those voices. It’s mellow, quiet, and well boring. I swear I have never heard him yell or get mad. He either has nerves of steel or he is on something. When the bell rings I fight the urge to shout hallelujah. I didn’t want to be that rude.
I quickly walk out of the room, and towards Ethan’s classroom. I spot Rae on the way there, and run up behind her and jump on her back.
“Hey beautiful I missed you!” I yell as I jump on her back. She stumbles forward, but thankfully doesn’t fall. I’m not that heavy. She turns and looks back at me and we start laughing.
“Well I missed you too Babe… I take it you’re really happy to see me.” She says, as she repositions me on her back.
“I am extremely happy to see you, and get out of economics. I swear I was so bored I wanted to shoot myself.” I tell her and we both laugh. We walk… well she walks and I ride piggyback to Lit. We are talking and laughing when we get to the room. We walk in and see Ethan and no one else. He gives us a weird look before laughing and shaking his head.
“Do I even want to know how she ended up on your back?” He asks Rae, and I act like I’m offended. Rae laughs before putting me down, on Ethan’s desk.
“Ohh that, Sky just jumped me is all.” Rae says, shrugging her shoulders. “Nothing unusual there.” She adds before me and her burst out laughing. Ethan sighs and looks at the both of us. He shakes his head before laughing a little.
“How does Gage put up with both of you?” He asks, and we shrug before looking at each other.
“Because we’re hot.” We both say and burst out laughing again. Ethan chuckles and shakes his head more.
“I think I need to find a new lunch table.” He remarks still shaking his head at us.
“Hey, no one ever said you had to sit with us every day. You done that on your own.” I tell him, and he looks down and sighs.
“Besides we’re like a drug. Once you’re with us you’re stuck. Gage has been saying for years that he needs new friends, and yet he’s still here.” Ethan looks at Rae and then me and I nod my head.
“She’s right I swear Gage tells us at least once a day that he needs new friends.” I tell Ethan and then look away. I know he still thinks that Gage has feelings for me, but that’s just stupid. Me and Gage will always be just friends. The second bell rings, and I notice there is still no one in the class room. I look at Rae who has just realized the same thing.
“Where is everybody at?” Rae ask looking at Ethan. He looks around the classroom and then smiles at us.
“Well they are probably in the gym at the beginning of the year pep rally. Do you two not pay attention at all to the morning announcements, or your home room classes?” Me and Rae look at each other and shake our heads no.
“I’m always too busy in homeroom.” Rae starts.
“Yeah texting me.” I finish for her. Ethan laughs at us and leans back against a desk in front of us.
“So if you knew there was a pep rally why didn’t you tell us when we walked into the class?” Ethan looks at Rae and then at me.
“Cause I didn’t want to go.” I look at him confused.
“Isn’t it mandatory for teachers to attend though?”
“Yes it is unless they are keeping misbehaved students.” He tells me and I look at him.
