We go into the first clothing store in the mall. TJMaxx I think? I honestly don’t know. I just saw clothes and ran. My shoes were making those squeaking noises, and my pants were clinging to me and it felt…gross. I walk in and bee-line towards the jeans. I found a really cute pair of skinny jeans. Now I need a shirt.
I walk to where the shirts are, and I find a really cute grey sweater. Similar to by beige one, but not as big, it has wide ¾ sleeves, and a band at the bottom. I go to the dressing room, and the lady at the fitting room just looks at me.
“I’m going to pay for these, but I really need to put these on now.” She looks at me with a bored expression on her face, and points to the fitting rooms.
“Go ahead; your boyfriend already explained everything.” I open my mouth, to say that he’s not my boyfriend, but no words come out. It’s not like she cares anyway.
“Thanks.” I finally tell her going into the dressing room. The first thing I see is a mirror. I almost laugh at how terrible I look. I look like a drowned cat. My hair is a mess, my clothes clinging to my body. I take off my wet clothes, and then relish in the feel of my dry clothes.
After I’m dressed, I decide I need to do something to my hair. Thank god I always have a pony-tail holder. I put my hair into a high, messy bun, and it actually looks cute. I take a step, and when I hear the squish my shoes make, I know I’m going to have to change them as well. I slip them off, not being able to stand it anymore.
I tip-toe barefoot out of the dressing room, I peek around to see if anyone is there. There’s not so I quickly walk out, walking towards the shoes. I look through the shoes; they have a lot of heels. I find some flats, but they’re not my style. Then I see some cute, sequined black uggs. They’re cute and sparkly.
I grab them, pull the tag off, and put them on. I walk towards the checkout counter, and I see Ethan. His back is to me, and I can’t help but check him out for a minute. He’s wearing a tight, pair of blue jeans. The ones that are dark on the outside and a little lighter as they go towards the middle. He’s wearing a black and white plaid button-up, with a black tee underneath. He still hasn’t noticed me, so I walk slowly up to him. About the time I reach up going to try to scare him, he turns around.
“Nice try Babe.” He tells me, and I cross my arms over my chest and pout.
“How did you know? I didn’t make a noise!”
“Easy, I felt you. That and I smelled your perfume.” I roll my eyes at him as I walk to the counter. I give her the tags from my clothes, and the cashier looks over at Ethan.
“Add this to yours, sir?” She asks, smiling at Ethan. I felt the jealousy surge through my body, and I looked down. Why am I jealous?
“Yeah add this to mine.”
“No, I can pay for my own clothes.” I start for my wallet, but Ethan stops me. He takes my hand, and holds it in his. He hands the lady the money.
“Here you go.” He tells her smiling. She looks down at our hands, and I see her frown. The frown doesn’t last long though.
