I stand there and stare at Ethan. No, that wouldn’t be great, that would be terrible! I don’t want to be stuck in the same row, watching a movie with Ethan. I don’t want to be in the same theatre as him! Wait? Why am I mad at him?
Oh yeah, he makes confusing statements to me, and then doesn’t talk to me for 2 days. He looks at me in shock, and acts like I’m invisible. Then smiles at me, this man can’t make up his mind. I wonder if he’s bipolar. I can’t believe he agreed to this. He probably did it on purpose, damn man.
I look over at him talking to Tiffany, Rae, and Gage about the movie, and I glare at him. He looks over at me and catches my glare. I quickly avert my eyes, but not before I see the look of confusion and pain that passes over his face. Dammit, he wasn’t supposed to see that.
I decide while he’s talking to go buy our tickets, and find out the show times. I walk up the window to order 4 tickets, and find out that the next showing isn’t for 45 minutes. Great, what am I going to do until then? I look down at all the bags in my hands, and I get an idea. I walk back over to Gage.
“Hey Gage, I need the keys to your truck.” I tell him, and he looks at me as if I were speaking Greek.
“Excuse me? You need what?”
“I need the keys to your truck.” I tell him, again, this time speaking very slowly.
“No, why do you want the keys to my truck? You’re not driving my truck.” He tells me, and I sigh impatiently. Is he serious? In the background I hear Ethan chuckle, which pisses me off.
“Seriously Gage? I’m a better damn driver than you are. Besides I don’t want to drive your damn truck. I want to go and put my damn bags in it. So give me your damn keys.” I stomp my foot at the end. They all look at me shocked. Gage quickly fishes the keys out of his pocket.
“Okay, here.” He tells me handing me his keys, quickly. “Don’t blow a gasket, Sky. I was just kidding, sheesh.”
“See was that so hard?” I ask, putting his keys in my pocket.
“You could at least say thank you.” I hear him mutter. I walk up to him slowly.
“Thanks Gage.” I tell him, slapping him gently on the face. Okay it was probably a little harder than needed but… yeah you know.
“Rae do you want me to take your bags too?”
“Oh, yeah that would be great.” She tells me, handing me her bags too. I look down at my overloaded hands now, and curse my friendliness.
“Yeah, great right.” I mumble, she looks at me then back at the group uncertainly.
“Maybe I should come with you.” I just shake my head at her.
“I’ll be fine. Besides, I know you don’t want to leave. Why don’t you go drool over Ethan?” She turns and looks toward our English teacher, Gage, and Tiffany. She looks at them for a minute, and then turns back to me.
“I can’t do it.” She tells me, and I look at her confused.
“Why can’t you do it?”
“Because whether I like it or not, he likes you not me.” My confusion only deepens.
“Who are you talking about?”
“Ethan”
“What about me?” I look behind Rae, and see Ethan walking towards us. I feel myself blush.
“Oh I was just telling Sky that-“I put my hand over Rae’s mouth, effectively shutting her up.
“Nothing, I was just sending Rae back over there. I’m going to the truck now.” I look over towards Rae, as I feel something warm and wet slide across my hand. “Rae quit licking my hand.” I tell her, and I hear her muffled response.
