Chapter 38- Realizations

“So, how am I Getting back to my car?” I ask Rae as we head towards my house in her car.

“Don’t worry about that. Gage and I took care of that.”

“Oh really?”

“Yes we discussed it as you changed.”

“And?”

“We’ll talk about that later. So are you going to tell me what happened last night?”

“I already told you what happened.”

“Yeah, I mean between you and Gage. I know something happened.”

“Nothing happened Rae.”

“Yeah right, and I’m the Easter bunny.”

“You’d look cute with bunny ears.”

“You’re getting off the subject. So what’s going on with you and Gage?” I laugh at her persistence. She doesn’t give up easy. I don’t really know what to tell her. We kissed… I think I like him. No I know I like him, but part of me still is in love with my teacher.

“Nothing Rae…”

“Yeah right, you were half naked in his bed this morning. Are you trying to tell me that nothing happened?”

“Yep.”

“Did you kiss him?” I still at her question, should I tell her? I open my mouth when my phone goes off. Ethan’s name flashes across the screen. I sigh debating on whether or not to answer.

“Are you going to answer?”

“I don’t know, should I?”

“That’s up to you Sky.”

“No…” I say hitting the ignore button. “I have nothing to say to him. Not right now.” We pull up in front of my house when Rae’s phone goes off. She looks down at it and then over at me.

“It’s him. Do you want me to answer?”

“That’s up to you Rae. I can’t tell you what to do.” She looks at me uncertainly as she hits the button.

“Hello?”

“Thank God Rae! Did you find her? Is she okay? Is she with you?”

“Yes Ethan I found her. She’s okay, she’s with me now.”

“Thank God, can I talk to her?”

“I don’t think that’s a great idea. She’s still upset.”

“I understand, but it’s important Rae.”

“I understand Ethan.” She looks over at me, and I shake my head at her. I know what he wants, and I’m not giving it to him. I open the door to get out of the car. Rae sighs looking at me. “Look Ethan I have to go we are about to go shopping. I’ll tell Sky you called.”

“Okay, Rae.” She hangs up the phone and follows me inside the house.

“You know he still does love you don’t you.”

“I know Rae, but I don’t want to talk about it. You shouldn’t have told him we were going shopping.”

“Why? You don’t think he’ll show up and try something do you?”

“I don’t know. I wouldn’t put anything past him.” Just then my phone goes off. I pick it up expecting to see a text or call from Ethan. I smile when I see Gage’s name.

                -I miss you.

                -Aww that’s sweet. You’ll see me in a little bit.
