The rest of the day goes by uneventful, as does the next day. I avoid Ethan as much as possible. Which he made, easy by keeping his distance, which is strange, extremely strange... That's not the only strange thing either, Rae and Ethan have been talking... alone, a lot, like they are right now.

"This is frigging ridiculous..." I mutter under my breath, as I lean against the wall and wait for Rae to come out of the class room. It's once again lunch time, and once again I'm waiting for Raeghyn outside of Ethan's classroom, and I'm getting sick of waiting.

"Screw this..." I say as I push myself off of the wall, and head to the lunchroom. I enter the lunchroom and groan when I see the lunch line. That's not gonna happen... I think as I turn and head to the lunch table.

I sit down, and put my head on the table. I'm not really worried about eating, since I'm leaving school early today to get ready for the dance.

The dance...

For some reason I'm not really excited for it, I'm more nervous. I get butterflies every time I think about it. I don't know why I'm nervous, there's no real reason for it. I'm still sitting there, with my head on the table when I hear movement beside me.

"Skylar?" At the sound of my name I look up.

"Yes?" I ask when I see a girl standing there with a slip of paper in her hand.

"You were checked out." She tells me as she hands me the slip.

"Oh, thank you very much." I tell her as I take the slip. She stands there smiling at me, and I look at her confused. "Is there anything else?" I ask, slowly.

"No, I just wanted to let you know that I voted for you." She says as she smiles and walks away.

"Well, thank you." I tell her, as I get up and grab my books. I walk to my locker, looking for Rae on the way there, to no avail. I throw my books in my locker, before heading down the hallway to Ethan's classroom. I feel butterflies ignite in my stomach, as memories of our kiss infiltrate my mind.

I shake the thoughts from my mind, as I walk up to the doorway. He's standing behind his desk in his classroom, alone. I lean against the door jam as I watch him work. I stand there for a few minutes, admiring him, before I clear my throat. He looks up, and I watch as a smile makes its way onto his face.

"Hello, Skylar..." He says as he puts the papers he was shuffling through down. He walks closer towards me, and I find myself taking a step towards him too. "What can I do for you?" He asks, as he comes to a stop a few feet from me.

"I was actually looking for Rae." I tell him, and I watch as the smile on his face drops a little.

"Oh, well she left here about 5 minutes ago." He says, while looking at his watch.

"Do you know where she went?" I ask, feeling the frustration build inside of me.

"She said she was heading to the lunchroom to look for you."
