¤Chapter Three¤
"Miss Fields, I'm starting to get really annoyed by your misbehaviors" Mr. Pot frowned.
He took a seat around his desk and I sat in the chair across from him, lounging with my legs crossed on the desk in front of me. He glared at me before shifting his gaze to scan through my school file —I'm guessing— on his laptop.
"Pot, Potty, Mr. Pot sir —I haven't been that naughty, have I?" I pouted.
He slid his hand over his shiny bald head in frustration before forcefully shoving my feet off his desk. "Don't you dare refer me to the drugs you filthy teenagers use these days and—"
I brush him off. "Yeah okay. So, what's my sentence?"
"What?" He leaned back in his office chair, bewildered.
I stare in disbelief. "You know, my punishment? What is it?"
My phone buzzed three times in my pocket as if it was having a seizure. I pull it out in front of the principal, not caring that it might be considered 'disrespectful'
>Hey Madi, it's me...Owen. Your friend Amy gave me your number. She said you found some serious damages on your bike and need to meet me privately??
>I'm sure I can ditch Brittney for a few minutes at lunch. Unless, you want her there as well?
>Okay you probably want her there too since she's the one who actually damaged your bike.
I stare at the screen, baffled. I don't remember mentioning anything of the sort to Amy so why the heck would she tell him that? Actually, she knows I don't like giving people my number because of a certain stalker from my past so why...
Whatever, I shrugged and try to focus in on Mr. Pot.
I'm just relieved she didn't tell him that I might have a crush on him, I guess.
Since I plan on being single for the rest of my life.
"... So yeah, Miss Fields I honestly don't know what to do with you. I can't believe Dr. Elizabeth Fields is your Mother —she's an angel and you're..."
Ew.
I tune him out again. It's actually very obvious that he has a crush on my mother. As soon as I found out, I took advantage of that fact immediately. He will never expel me because he feels like there is some chance of her falling madly in love with him for being so 'kind' and 'patient' with her delinquent daughter. My guess is, since he can't get a conference with my busy parents, he's making a long list of things I've done and the resourceful punishments he's had to come up with alone.
Then, maybe when I graduate —or before that— he'll show them the hardships he to endured because of me. Mom and dad will get into an argument about who is more involved in my life and when she's at her lowest point, Mr. Pot will swoop in and say, 'Mrs. Fields, forgive me for intervening but it seems Mr. Fields doesn't understand you like I do. Instead of trying to have a conference, I considered that you might be busy and handled matters myself because I care.'
I snickered.
Mr. Pot stopped his speech midway. "Something funny, Madison?"
I flinched at my name. I can't really stop teachers from calling me Madison without going into a detailed explanation of my past. A past where my mom had to become my 'therapist' for me to get through it. A past that this creepy principal will only try to use to his advantage.
