"My, my look what the cat dragged in," Stacy teased the moment she saw the familiar figure walk through the door. A devilish grin crept across her face when the short girl stood in the middle of the room, fearful to take another step. Amber searched the room, noticing the older girls' four stooges who were also there. They glared at her, each of them in their coked-up state and it made the brunette anxious.
"Did you bring my money, Amber?" The other brunette asked and the girl reached into the leather bag hanging at her side and pulled out the parcelled off cash. "Here, five grand. Nothing more nothing less," she said in a monotone throwing the money onto the glass table before her.
Stacy picked up the cash and studied it, shortly after a tiny smile eased across her black lips. "I'm surprised Amber, I could've sworn I would've had to kill you for my money."
"Yeah that's unfortunate, maybe some other time you'll get that chance,"
Stacy cackled. The girl rolled her eyes at how dramatic she was being.
"Look, I've paid you back your money, I don't owe you anything. All I ask now is that you have your measles stop following me around the place, it's creepy as fuck."
"Consider it done, although it was just to ensure that you didn't try to skip town or anything." She replied.
"You have what you need now leave me alone, oh and thanks for framing me," Amber said passing Lee to head for the exit. "You're welcome. You should stay a bit though, let's talk,"
"Fuck off," the girl sneered and her friend ogled at her feistiness.
Bustling out of the crack house, sighing with relief when her lungs met with clean and untainted air from the outside, Amberle realized time was slipping fast, she still needed to hurry back to the apartment to do that stupid thing for the older woman. It's like she'd gone back to high school and this was her science teacher all over again.
With brisk steps, the girl tucked her hands in the pockets of her jeans. Peering around, she noted the car with the two men that drove behind her slowly. The vibes seemed off at first until she looked back once and one of the men nodded at her and not any old nod, but the nod that lets you know you might know someone or vice versa.
The sight of them lowered the girl's worry just a little. The men watched her get into a cab and followed it until they realized she made it back safely. It was nice of the woman to keep her word Amberle thought. For the first time in months, she felt safe and cared for.

Hurriedly she scribbled the words over the blank page as the sound of Joslyn trying to enter the apartment could be heard in the background. Her fingers skidded across the book, her penmanship all the way fucked up because she rushed it. Joslyn was going to kill her the girl thought, gripping the pen.
The slow clicking of heels on the hardwood floor was the only thing that indicated that the woman successfully entered the apartment and was searching for the girl. Just the thought of her standing there while her attentive eyes skimmed over her with that condescending flair had Amberle's heart racing within her chest.
"Times up," the woman said startling the girl.
Her chuckle was smooth as she walked around Amberle, the girl stopped to listen to it. She didn't know why, but she found her smiling.
"Times up sweety," the woman reiterated looking at her watch.
"Give me a sec, please"
"No, times up miss Wilson," Joslyn said and plumped down beside the girl, snatching the journal away from her.
"Hey!"
Amberle tried taking the book back but froze when she saw the way Joslyn looked at her— with a flair of mischief behind those pale eyes. The girl rarely ever blushed at anything, but right there at that point, she turned away as her cheeks burned. Lowering her eyes to the book in her hand, the girl watched as the woman read the words while checking the pages.
"Well, this is not what I asked for," she said and the girl retorted with frustration, "What do you mean, I did what you asked."
"Is that what you think? 'I will never disobey anyone, and will value the property of others' You couldn't even get it right, not to forget you only made it halfway through the pages." Joslyn replied and the young girl stood up immediately from the couch. She frowned. God, the woman was insufferable!
"Why does it matter? The point is I tried."
"Yes you did but you didn't do it as told, which means you can't follow instructions."
"Right, so you do it since you know how it should be done!" The girl exclaimed and walked away from the couch.
"I didn't tell you to leave," she heard Joslyn say. "You didn't have too."
"Oh so you're being rude again, way to add even more punishment to your very short list," Joslyn replied and she rolled her eyes.
"Did you just roll your eyes at me?"
"No." Amberle lied. A smirk stretched across the woman's lips.
"Come here," She instructed and the girl started backing away from her. "No,"
"Miss Wilson, I said come here."
"No!"
"Alright, then I'll come to you," Joslyn spoke and her heart raced. The moment she started walking towards her, Amberle turned on her heels and ran out of the room. Surprisingly she heard her jog behind her at the same speed. Shrieking loudly when she grabbed her arm, Amberle tried pulling away but Joslyn was strong enough to hold her still.
Subduing her enough for her to stop squirming, Amberle's breath rushed as she looked up into the woman's face, she saw dark lust.
