They didn't even make it to the apartment, everything was too overwhelming and they just needed to stop somewhere. The sight of Amberle alive left the woman elated and as if a heavy presence shifted from her back and shoulders, she exhaled. So much so she couldn't wait until they were alone to show her affection. Arms hooked around her neck, Amberle sat in the woman's lap, straddling her while they sat in the darkness of the car. The two women decided to detour from their destination to pull over somewhere remote to cuddle.
Joslyn embraced the brunette tightly feeling so much inundate her. She missed the girl, she missed holding her even if it was for several seconds, several minutes and despite the drama that seemed to be attracted to her as if she was some sort of magnet, the woman was still in love.
As a married woman, she knew better than to fall in love with someone else, particularly someone so young, someone she was meant to have a temporary thing with but this one was different. Of course, every person she'd encountered was different but Amberle had that special something that she adored and it was why she couldn't leave her even if she wanted to.
Combing her fingers through her hair, Joslyn pulled her face closer to hers, pressing her lips lightly to hers, feeling Amberle shudder against her hold.
"I'm sorry," the younger woman mumbled against and the blonde tightened the hold she had around her torso while her eyes squeezed shut. Joslyn tried to fight back the emotions she'd been shielding away intentionally since the whole scenario between them started. The love and compassion she felt for Amberle were piling high and she needed to let her know to free herself from its heavy grasp.
"I'm sorry too," the woman said resting her forehead against hers. Joslyn thought about what she wanted to say, she needed the right words to convey how she felt.
"Why are you sorry? I was the one who put you—us in danger."
"Yes, but I didn't believe you were innocent. At first, I thought you were still lying to me about Danny, and I'm sorry. It's why I came to you, it's because I need you to know that I care about you, in the ways I've never cared for anyone in years. Having you around makes me feel like I've struck a gold mine at a low point in my life. I feel like the only way I can be happy now is with you. If it weren't for you barging into my life claiming that you were my relative that night I would've never been reminded of what loving someone romantically felt like."
"So you do love me, huh?" She asked and Joslyn chuckled.
"I got kidnapped all because of you yet still I came to find you to proclaim my love and you're questioning it?" She asked and Amberle giggled at which point Joslyn sat up properly so she could make out portions of the girl's face in the little light shining through the windows. Her eyes gleamed, making the burning ocean in them beautifully vivid.
"I missed you," Joslyn cupped her face.
She was being sincere, she knew they both shared the same feelings for the other and patiently the woman waited for Amberle to be confident enough to share hers.
Giving her hand a little squeeze the woman.
"I would like to kiss you now," she said and the girl was the one to cup her face afterwards. Amberle slipped her lips onto hers, not harsh or hurriedly but tender and soft. Joslyn sighed her praise, enamoured of the way Amberle willed their lips to collide.
The kiss was sensual and deep, willing both women to uncoil and relax. Moments after their sensual kiss deepened, the woman felt the wetness of Amberle's cheek against hers and the realization that she was crying hit and quickly she pulled her away.
"No, please," She begged and hugged the woman tighter tightly throwing her arms around her neck again. Joslyn didn't protest, instead, she hugged her.
Running one hand up and down the length of her back in a soothing motion.
She knew what the girl went through was far worse than her own experience and it was why she no longer felt any resentment towards her for it. The majority of the things that happened weren't her fault and the woman wanted was to make sure she knew it and that it was all in the past. All she cared about now was keeping Amberle safe and with her as much as she could.
"I love you," Amberle said and Joslyn smiled snuggling her face into the girl's hair. Her tears started to sting.
