Time ticked by much slower since the incident outside of the apartment that morning. Amberle noticed the change in the older woman's attitude hours after. Joslyn was suddenly cold to everyone and snapped at her a few times and despite her promise, she knew it was just a matter of time before she was tossed to the side. It scared her knowing how easily disposable she was to people and particularly Joslyn. She didn't know why but she hoped Jos was different.

The hope of such a thing even caused the girl to bring up the woman's hostility but she dismissed her coldly, each time. Amberle wasn't one to give up so easily and attempted one last time. The judge came around, three days after the incident. Fuming she went around the apartment slamming doors and mumbling to herself. In her little safe space, Amber observed the taller figure.

"So, I'm guessing it's not just me you're mad at?"

"I hate him." Joslyn hissed. The girl was taken aback at first but finally figured who was the root of the woman's anger, happy that it wasn't her that day. Quietly Joslyn slumped against the couch and the brunette sat alongside her just staring off into oblivion, waiting for her to vent when she was ready.

"What happened between you guys?"

"Luther and I had an argument which stemmed from the incident with my car. It escalated and well.."

"And what?"

"Well let's just say I'll be staying here with you until I'm ready to go back home." She stated. Amberle didn't want to make it obvious but she was excited at the thought of Joslyn being around more often. She felt guilt at first but realized if the woman didn't feel any why should she? It dissipated soon after.

"Wouldn't that make him angrier?" She asked feigning her concerns and Joslyn scoffed.

"I don't care, I'm just glad to get away from him," Joslyn replied tugging at the girl's arm, attempting to pull her over to rest her head on her shoulder. The act confused Amberle at first but eventually, she curled up beside the woman. She stroked the girl's head, sending shivers all through her body and unearthing a fondness for the touch Amberle never knew she had. Usually, whenever they were together in that apartment it meant they'd do the nasty but that afternoon it was different. Joslyn cuddled with her until night came and it was easily her new favourite thing. The girl scolded herself though, catching feelings for a married woman wasn't on her bucket list so she kept it in thought to avoid feeling too much.

It was only temporary, the thing they had and she drilled it into her head but she wasn't blind to Joslyn's behaviour towards her. The woman never hid her feelings but was careful with how she revealed them to her. Secretly they were both feeling the same things but was unsure if they had the right to be opened about it.
