It was the first for such rawness between Amberle and the woman, but it felt right deep inside both of them, it felt like the most perfect thing the universe could've ever bestowed upon them. Curled up in each other's arm in the dimly lit room was everything they ever dreamt of. The tranquillity and serenity that swept them around, snuggling them tight were comforting, it was owed.

The steady rise and fall of Amberle's chest as she laid comfortably against Joslyn incited the woman's breathing to be hooked to the rhythm, following along in tandem. She was mesmerized at every intricate detail about the young woman and in ways she'd never been before. Maybe it was because whenever she was near her all that would come to mind would be of the physical and hardly ever anything intimate, that is until she truly took the time to experience her in other ways.
Joslyn was certain Amberle felt the same things, for neither of them tried to pursue what they normally would, instead of exhausting their bodies they laid humbled. And it was as if it was what the girl craved ever since the creation of time.

"Are you going to spend the night with me?" Amberle questioned and the woman's lips curled into a smile.

"Of course, I have no intentions of leaving you alone again, ever," she answered and she heard her suck in a sharp intake of air when the woman's fingers eased through her hair and started massaging her scalp.

It then went quiet again, not of awkwardness but clarity. Amberle understood what was happening so there were no more questions or concerns. The woman was hers, she was willingly giving herself, wanting to forever be Amberle's. To be the family she never had, the love she never had and the protector that should've stayed with her at her lowest point.

"Luther and I have decided that it's best if we split. It's just about time before we break the news to the boys." Joslyn said after several minutes of silence. Amberle rose from her chest, gazing down into the woman's face with intrigue.

"Are you serious?"

"I am. After I was discharged from the hospital, we went home and I couldn't pretend anymore. We sat down for a discussion, he knew I was cheating, he admitted to knowing all along and so did I. He favoured the idea of separating rather than staying chasing what's no longer attainable between us."

"You're sure that divorce is the best option?" She asked and Joslyn could tell the topic was of great concern to her.

"It's either that or you and I never see each other again, which I'd rather die than to see that happen," answered the woman, leaving Amberle to bite her tongue.

"You're sure you don't want to reconsider? What if I turn out to be a waste of time, what if you regret pursuing me?" The girl was lost in her thought. She didn't want the woman to regret her decision months even a year down the line, she didn't want to be the one to ruin any more things for Joslyn.

"I stuck around all this time, didn't I? You can't chase me away that easily stupid," the woman said playfully pushing her arm. They chuckled.

"I'm willing to do a lot of things for you Amberle, I need you to know that. I want you to be happy, I want you to feel loved, you deserve those things. You've proven that you're not some lost soul who can't be saved, you have the potential to do good and not for anyone but you. I just want to be there at the side cheering you on. Will it be easy? No, but I think me sticking around through the crappy start is proof that I won't quit as easy as you think." The woman responded. It was nothing but the truth.

Seconds later Amberle's lips met hers in the most wonderful kiss they'd ever shared and she melted.
