"You're going where with who?" Monica asks surprised after Sevyn tells her where she's heading tonight.
"To Manny's sister's 18th birthday party." Sevyn replies as she puts on her lipgloss. She was surprised when her mother agreed to let her go to the party. Other than what Sevyn has told her about Manny she's never met him so it's surprising that she really agreed to letting her go. She's just glad that her mother trusts her enough to go alone without having her brothers escort her like she thought she would.
"You just met him." Monica tells her then pauses. "Catching feelings already?"
Sevyn rolls her eyes brushes the fly aways in her hair. "Why can't a girl and boy be friends without people thinking they like eachother or are already dating?"
"Cuz that's an unwritten rule. Someone always catches feelings."
"You and my brothers are friends, so are you and Corey and you and Shaun." Sevyn counters.
"I'm a lesbian."
"Touche... but still. I'm just going to his sisters party, not marrying him."
Monica's silent for a moment and Sevyn knows she just rolled her eyes. "Whatever you say mami. What are wearing?"
"I'll snapchat you a pic when I'm done getting dressed."
"Kk, stay close to Manny and don't let those latin boys charm you." Monica advises making her smile.
"Bye Money, talk to you later." Sevyn says before hanging up the phone. The time reads 6:15 and the party starts at 7:00. The drive is about thirty minutes or more depending on if her mom knows where's she's going or not. After leaning closer to the mirror and making sure her lipgloss and little bit of mascara is on point, Sevyn walks over to her closet where her outfit is hanging up.
She decided to wear a black and red tribal print top with sleek black pants and black wedges that she borrowed from Monica a long time ago. She plans on putting on the shoes when she arrives at the place because it's really cold out right now. After looking herself over in the mirror, Sevyn grabs her phone and snaps a pic of herself before sending it to Monica. As she puts some money, her lipgloss and her state ID in her bag, Monica replies with a picture of her holding a thumbs up. She smiles and grabs her cardigan before turning out the light in her room and walking out into the hallway.
On her way down stairs she runs into Ty who does a double take, looking her up and down. He squints at her and raises his eyebrows, "Where are you going?" He asks her.
"A party," She replies and tries to walk past him but he steps into her path to block her.
"Who's party?" Ty asks.
"My friends Manny, now move." She says trying once again to get past him. He continues to stand in her way.
"Hey Malcolm, come here." Ty calls. A moment later Malcolm appears beside his twin and looks at Sevyn. "Where you think you going?"
Sevyn groans, "Guys I don't have time for this. I'm going to my friend Manny's sister's 18th birthday party. Now can I please go?"
"Who's Manny? Has mom met him? And what about Jackson?" Malcolm asks.
"He's my friend! Mom said it's ok so leave me alone. And Jackson has nothing to do with this. Even if we were together right now he doesn't control who I'm friends with and where I go. He's not possessive like you two." Sevyn says in a rush while pushing past her brothers. "I have to go!"
Ty follows behind her, "Is mom bringing you?" He asks and Sevyn nods her head quickly as she walks down the stairs. "I'm coming too!"
"Me too!" Malcolm pipes up.
