Weeks later, Sevyn finds herself buzzing around Monica's room getting herself ready for prom. Monica's room is the biggest out of all of them, so the girls figured it would be a nice place to help each other prepare.
"Ouch!" Sevyn whines, rubbing her eyebrows.
"Well if you had gotten them done when I told you, we wouldn't be having this problem." Monica tells her, plucking another hair from her eyebrow.
Sevyn winces and pulls back. "I don't like pain. And this hurts."
"Man up." Monica tells her, plucking another hair. Sevyn winces again and frowns. She looks up at Monica who has perfectly shaped eyebrows. All she really has to do is pluck some out of place hairs.
Talia is applying coconut scented lotion to her body and Miranda is curling her hair. Sevyn peeks into the mirror to see how she looks. Miranda happily did her make up with dark maroon colored lipstick and shimmery purple eyeshadow. Her hair is pulled up in a sleek bun with a flipped bang covering one eye. She honestly didn't think she had enough hair to do all this but her hairdresser made it happen.
Monica's hair is in tight spiral curls, giving her a bouncy red mane around her face. She has emerald green eyeshadow to compliment her ruby red lips. Talia's hair is in a silky genie ponytail with a gold head chain. Her lipstick is a shell pink with a smoky eyehadow. And Miranda's jet black hair has been pinned to the side and hangs over her shoulder in big curls. Her eyes look extra wide with the powdery blue eyeshadow she has on along with her bubblegum pink lipstick. She reminds Sevyn of one of those kawii Asian girls from a fashion magazine.
"We're some cute ass girls." Sevyn points out.
"If it weren't for Ty I'd take myself to prom." Talia says spraying hairspray across her bang.
Monica plucks one last hair from Sevyn's eyebrow before standing back and admiring her work. "All done cry baby."
Sevyn hops out the chair before Monica can spot another out of place hair. With her eyebrows slightly stinging, she picks up her phone to check the time and a message from Jackson appears. "The boys just picked up the rental car," She announces. "They should be here in about twenty minutes."
In a flash, the room fills with chaos as the girls run around spraying perfume, fixing makeup, slipping on bras and fastening jewelry. Ten minutes later they're each wiggling into their dresses and helping each other zip them up. The room smells like Hollister, hair spray and nail polish.
A soft knock on the door pauses the chaos for a second as Monica's mom slips into the room. "Hello ladies, almost ready?"
"Yup just doing some last minute touches." Monica tells her as she applies mascara.
Her mom smiles and looks around the room, her eyes scanning each dress. Monica is wearing a long cross strap black dress with a gold band around the stomach and a high slit on the side. Sevyn is dressed in a long one shoulder dress that fades from a dark purple to a light purple and flares at the bottom. Miranda models a short powder blue chiffon dress with lace along the sweetheart neckline. Lastly is Talia, who's dressed in a fiery red high low dress with a long train. It shows off her long legs and four and a half inch gold shoes.
"There's so much beauty I can't handle it." Monica's mom fans her face making the girls laugh. "Huddle up so I can take a picture. Your mom might kill me if I forget to send them to her, Sevyn."
Sevyn shakes her head, if her mother could take a picture of every minute of her life she would. After smoothing her hair, she stands between Monica and Talia and poses with the girls for a picture. Monica's mom snaps three pictures before they hear the doorbell ring. The girls scatter in different directions to grab their purses and do last minute mirror checks.
